European 250cc Pairs Speedway Championship:
Polish team ruled Final 1 on home ground

The European 250cc Pairs Speedway Championship kicked off yesterday in Gdańsk, Poland.

In Final 1 Polish team put on an outstanding show on home ground, recording an almost perfect performance as riders out-paced a ferociously fast field to claim the top step of the podium.

The first event of the series was a special eco-meeting.

8 National teams and 19 riders representing Poland, Great Britain, Estonia, Germany, Czechia, Denmark, Sweden, Slovenia, were invited to a special meeting: “A moment for nature”. Following the “Green Education Programme” riders were reminded to use the environmental mats under their bikes and care about the environment.

With a potentially career-changing prize on the line, the racing was intense from the first block of Heats that saw the Polish riders fight against a high-competitive British team.

that finished second with 30 points.

In a meeting full of action and challenges with tensions rising in the Gdańsk Arena, solid pair from Denmark raced for the third step of the podium ahead of Slovenia and Sweden.

With the Final 1 event completed, the focus now shifts to the second Final of the 2024 European 250cc Pairs Speedway Championship, which will be held at Krsko in Slovenia on Sunday 08th September.

  1. Poland (Maksymilian Pawełczak, Maksymilian Kostera, Karol Szmyd), 33 points
  2. Great Britain (William Cairns, Cooper Rushen, Seth Norman), 30 points
  3. Denmark (Villads Pedersen, Jacob Bølcho), 23 points
