Second round of Hill Climb Road Racing in Gorno-Oneta

The 2nd round of the new competition in the UEM, called the “Hill Climb Road Racing”, was held on the beautiful Passo Zambla in the area of Gorno near Bergamo in Italy. In total 97 riders were present to race “up to the hill” for over 2290 meters of racing track and making an altitude of 181 meter. The track has 7 square corners to the right and 8 to the left. Also 3 over 180 degrees hairpins. The average speed is not over 80 km/h. The weather conditions were perfect so high in the mountains. All was very well organised run without any problems. Second final of the Individual Speedway EC in Latvia

The second final of the Individual Speedway European Championship was held yesterday the first of September 2012 on the Latvian track of Dougavpils. The victory went to the Russian rider Grigory Laguta in front of Czech rider Ales Dryml and Latvian Andrejs Lebedevs. In the provisional rankings is leading the Czech rider Ales Dryml with 28 points. Next final round is scheduled on the 15th of September in Krsko (Slovenia) and the last one on the 30th of September in Mureck (Austria). (UEM Press Release 132/2012)

Two Countries Cup in Moscow

The third and last round of the Two Countries Cup was held today in Moscow (Russia). The winner of this round was Russian rider Maxim Kiselev (Honda), followed by Russian Sergey Orlov (Yamaha) and Belgian Dakota Mamola (Yamaha). After the three round the winner of the two Countries Cup is the Italian Denis Sacchetti (Kawasaki) with 56 points followed by Belgian Dakota Mamola (Yamaha) with 40 points. Semi-Final 1 of European Pairs Speedway EC in Munkebo

The first Semi-Final of the European Pairs Speedway European Championship was held yesterday on the Danish track of Munkebo. The Danish team (Kenni Larsen, Peter Kildemand, Nikolai Jakobsengot) was the winner in front of Germany and Denmark. The next Semi-Final is scheduled on the 8th of September in Miskolc (Hungary). Grass Track Individual final in Eenrum

The 2012 UEM Grass Track Individual Final was certainly a hot competition with the event being staged in temperatures approaching 34 Celsius at Eenrum in the North of Holland. The 4000 spectators witnessed some very exciting racing with riders not giving a centimetre during the 12 qualify heats. Once all the points were totalled, the field of 18 riders were allocated to the three (C, B and A) Finals. With two places available for the winner and 2nd place from the B Final racing was again extremely competitive with Dirk Fabriek (FMB) and Glen Philips (ACU) joining Ales Dryml (ACCR), Stephan Katt (DMSB), Jörg Tebbe (DMSB) and Jannick de Jong (KNMV) in the final. With Ales Dryml being unbeaten during the qualifying heat, he started favorite. However Katt had other ideas and he out gated the other five riders, to lead the race from start to finish. The first final of the Individual Speedway European Championship was held yesterday the 18th of August 2012 on the Polish track of Rawicz. The victory went to the Czech rider Ales Dryml in front of two Polish riders Tomasz Gapinski and Robert Miskowiak. The new format of the European Championship includes three more finals, to be held on the first of September in Daugavpils (Latvia), on the 15th of September in Krsko (Slovenia) and on the 30th of September in Mureck (Austria). Semi-finals and final of 80 cc. Youth Speedway Cup

The Semi-Final 1 and Semi-Final 2 of the Youth Speedway Racing European Cup 80cc were held yesterday in Czestochowa Poland). In the first Semi-Final Victory went to Danish rider Sam Jensen, followed by two other Danish riders Frederik Jakobsen and Mads Hansen. In the second Semi-Final again the first three riders from Denmark: Sebastian Mortensen, Jonas Jensen and Andreas Lyager. Introduction to Individual Speedway EC Final Series

For the first time in the history of the UEM the Individual Speedway European Championship will be held as Final Series with four Finals in four different countries. The finals will be held as follows: Final 1 EMN 50/5 Rawic, Poland on 18th August 2012 Final 2 EMN 50/6 Daugavpils, Latvia on 1st September 2012 Final 3 EMN 50/7 Krsko, Slovenia on 15th September 2012 Final 4 EMN 50/8 Mureck, Austria on 30th September 2012 The first three placed riders from the European Championship 2011 will lead the official starting list, completed by the best eight riders from the 2012 qualification system. Superstock 600 EC and KTM Junior Cup in Silverstone

The 7th round of the Superstock 600 European Championship series and the 8th round of the KTM European Junior Cup were run today in Silverstone (Great Britain). Both races were delayed due to the rainy weather and both races were shortened with 2 laps. In the Superstock 600 race, during the 2nd lap four riders crashed and the race was stopped by the Red Flag. The restarted race gave four riders in a group and they stayed all the race rather close together, where Gauthier Duwelz had the lead. But in the last part of the final lap, he crashed and Italian Riccardo Russo (Yamaha), Dutch Michael Van der Mark (Honda) and British Lee Jackson (Kawasaki) finished in this order. In the provisional rankings, the points gap between the first two riders in the Championship is only 3 (Russo and Van der Mark), but between the third placed rider (Duwelz)
