Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Chorzow (Poland)

Over 32.000 spectators watched an exciting meeting in the historical place of Chorzow. Despite the rain of the day before the track was in very good condition. ONE Sport and the Track staff prepared the event and the track in the best way. Leon Madsen from Denmark won all his heats and after heat 16 he was crowned European Champion 2018. For the second and third overall place it was close fight the final heat and Jaroslaw Hampel from Poland got the title of European Vice-Champion. Newcomer Robert Lambert from England claimed in third position overall. There were some good racing actions during the whole night and Michael Mikkelsen from Denmark took the overall fourth position in the standings. He showed some good overtakings during his heats. Antonio Lindbäck from Sweden is the fifth rider to stay in next year’s European Championship series.

European U21 Individual Speedway Championship at Stralsund (Germany)

The 2018 Under 21 Final brought together European brightest young speedway talents. 9 nations were represented in a strong, competitive field of riders. A pleasant late Summer day gave the organisers no problems with the track preparation, a small rain shower in the early evening and later in the meeting only helped track preparation. A good racing surface was provided for the competitors, and a healthy crowd watched some spectacular entertainment. Local interest was maintained by sole German representative Lukas Fienhage. Lukas put in some strong challenges and delighted the home crowd with a race win in heat 7. Danish rider Patrick Hansen was subject to a heavy fall in heat 10. He was transferred to hospital. European Supersport Cup at Red Bull Ring, Spielberg (Austria)

The fifth and penultimate round of European Supersport Cup was held at Red Bull Ring, Spielberg (Austria), in wet weather. The qualifying practice was held in in the rain and saw Samuel Lochoff sign the fastest laptime. In Race1 the riders were around 2 seconds faster than in qualifying. Good start on the wet in Race1 for Alexandra Pelikanova from Czech Republic from the third place on the starting grid - she fought with the European classification leaders: Samuel Lochoff and Taric van den Merwe from RSA. She also managed to lead the race for a while but in the end she finished second behind Sanuel Lochoff and ahead of Taric Van der Merwe. In Race 2 Alexandra Pelikanova started from pole position but after the first corner she was second and up to the end of the race she fought with van den Merwe. Samuel Lochoff won again, this

European Pairs Speedway Championship at Brovst (Denmark)

The European Pairs Speedway Championship Final decided for the winner of the European Championship during the last heat at Brovst, in Denmark. The meeting was well organized, in ideal weather conditions. Tobiasz Musielak and Grzegorz Zengota won the home pair 5:1 and for Poland was the seventh win of the European title in history. This pair won last year too, and in 2018 the team was supported by third rider Jakub Jamrog, too. Denmark, led by the home legend Hans Nielsen, finished second. Denmark was represented by Michael Jepsen Jensen, Anders Thomsen and Thomas Jorgensen. Italy gained the third place with only two riders Nicolas Covatti and Paco Castagna. In a dry, sunny weather in front of 2.000 home fans cheering for their national team, 4 junior teams provided excellent racing at Daugavpils, in Latvia. The first two teams put up exciting racing on the track for the top podium place till the last heat. The Danish team produced great riding up to the end and deserved the first European U21 team title in their history. Second position for Poland ahead of Latvia.

European Supermono Cup at Oschersleben (Germany)

The last round of FIM Europe Supermono Cup was held at Oschersleben. Josef Frauenschuh arrived as the leader of the general standings and he confirmed his good state of form in qualifying practices, even if the pole position went to Jerry van den Bunt, who however was absent in Grobnik and lost many points in the general classification. The first race started on wet/dry (mixed) track surface but many riders opted for wet tyres. After the race all wet tyres were almost destroyed but there were no serious crashes. After very emotional fight the winner was Jerry van den Bunt. In this race he showed that the classification of the European Supermono Cup 2018 was still open. Tauron Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Daugavpils (Latvia)

Leon Madsen won the third round of Tauron Speedway Euro Championship 2018, which was held at Daugavpils (Latvia) in front of around 6.000 spectators, in a sunny day. Thanks to a good result, Dane became the new leader of Individual Speedway European Championship. It was the very first heat, when fans, who gathered at the venue in Daugavpils, had reasons to get excited from. Andzejs Lebedevs - the local favourite, started the meeting with a win. Heat after heat, current Euro Champion got it slightly worse and did not get through to the final heat. Rivalry in Latvia started great for Madsen, who left Robert Lambert behind his back in his first start of the day. Dane presented some solid racing, which led him to gathering 16 points. European Under 19 Individual Speedway Championship at Varkaus (Finland)

The Speedway U19 Individual European Championship was held at Varkaus, in Finland - 17 riders from 10 nations were on the starting list, and they all did their best to become the Champion. On a sunny and windy day on a hard racetrack Mads Hansen from Denmark was the fastest, ahead of Polish Szymon Szlauderback and of Latvian Olegs Mihailovs. These young riders from 10 different Countries showed that Speedway is at a high level in Europe. European 125 cc Youth Track Racing Cup at Divisov (Czech Republic)

The town of Divisov, Czech Republic hosted the European 125cc Youth Track Racing Cup, which was held in front of around 200 spectators. The meeting was run with sunny, warm weather. 19 riders took part to the event. Thanks to work of the local organizers, the track was ready for a perfect competition and the spectators could see a very good race. The winner was Jaroslav Vaniček ahead of Bruno Belan. Šachl Vojtĕch claimed 3th place after a brave attack on the last bend of the final heat when he defeated Sam McGurk (ACU). All the riders on the podium are from Czech Republic.

European Mini Bike Road Racing at Franciacorta (Italy)

This year’s meeting has been a great success with 109 riders from 14 different Nations participating. The scene was the Autodromo di Franciacorta in Italy and with clear skies and warm and dry weather this excellent venue with two different tracks – one for MiniMoto and one for Mini GP – set the ideal frame for three days of racing and friendship. The Mini Bike racing is for children from 7 years and for many of the participants it was an inspiration and education to be part of the friendly but strict atmosphere associated with a European Championship. The Italian riders held the home track and they had strong results in all of the MiniMoto classes as well as in the Mini GP class.
