Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Eropean Cup: Ruiz and Bergamini share honours in opening Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup races Yeray Ruiz and Denis Bergamini were the first winners of the 2022 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup at MotorLand Aragón, with the Italian and Spaniard both sharing the championship lead, having also scored third-place finishes. Having qualified on pole position in Superpole session, Spanish youngster Ruiz maintained his lead by the end of the first lap, before Brazil’s Enzo Valentim hit the front on the second tour. Seven riders were involved in the lead battle for the opening five laps, but as they headed onto the sixth, Ruiz and Valentim pulled clear. The two constantly swapped places through the closing stages, but it was 18-year-old Ruiz who would eventually take victory, beating his 17-year-old rival by 0.273s across the line to win on debut. Update on FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship Technical Regulations: new minimum weights The FIM Europe and FIM have published an update on the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship Technical Regulations: new minimum weights for the Moto2™ European Championship and Hawkers European Talent Cup.   With the aim of not harming those riders of the Moto2™ ECh -including Stock subclass- and of the HETC that have decided to use the airbag, the minimum weight of the motorcycles will be increased by 2Kg for those riders who do not use the airbag. As in the JuniorGP™ class, using an airbag is mandatory for all the riders, the rules for this class are not affected. Women's European SS 300 Cup: the season is finally started! The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico, Italy, officially hosted the first round of the Women's European SS 300 Cup together with the CIV, the Italian Road Racing Championship. A thrilling weekend, finally with the audience both in the paddock and on the grandstands after two years behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 restrictions. 2020 and 2021 European Champion Beatriz Neila Santos started the weekend in the best way conquering the pole position, but in wet conditions Race1 was ruled by debut rider Jessica Howden from South Africa, who won 4 seconds ahead of Neila Santos and Sabrina Della Manna. A great success for the South African rider and her team, that is entirely "pink" as composed by women, both technicians and staff.
