EMX Quad Championship FIM Europe is pleased to announce that, with full cooperation of the FIM and APO Multimedia, the 2021 EMX Quad championship will consist of 3 point scoring races at each event when combined with the FIM Sidecarcross World championship. One race will take place on Saturday which will replace the Qualification race and two races will take place on Sunday, with all 3 races being 25 minutes plus 2 laps. This has been agreed due to the small number of events because of the Covid pandemic restrictions imposed on organisers. This will also apply to the stand alone event at Mladina in Croatia. Therefore the quad riders will have more point scoring races for the overall championship classification, as will the sidecar competitors. Starting order for the three races will be determined by the timed practise session of 25 minutes. Normal points will be awarded for each

Even if the travelling restrictions did not allow a normal competition, riders from 4 different countries (Poland, Czechia, Bulgaria and Croatia) battled it out for the European title. The first race saw the Polish star Roman Gwiazda lead from start to finish, winning ahead of Kacper Mieszkowski (Poland) and Zdenek Polaček (Czech). The second race was quite similar: once again Gwiazda took the lead from the start, while in the battle for the second position Polaček had the better on Kacper Mieszkowski. 2020 Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations

DSC_6563
2020 Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations It is with great regret that FIM Europe has to announce the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations which was to have been held at Varsseveld in The Netherlands on 3rd and 4th of October. The decision has been jointly made between FIM Europe, the KNMV and the Varsseveld organiser because of the uncertainty of travel for some teams, the financial impact that the Covid 19 virus has had on the competitors and their Federations, and also the fact that although the Dutch government will allow sporting fixtures to resume as from September, but with no public attendance. Without spectators the event is obviously not financially viable. The Sidecarcross of Nations has been organised continuously and successfully since the year 2000 and was joined by the Quadcross of Nations in 2009. This annual National team event

Quad MX Race 1 (Group A + B) Going into the first race of the day, the question everybody had on their mind was whether or not anybody could stop Team USA, as they were by far the quickest riders out on circuit throughout the duration of Saturday’s qualifying events. That question was soon to be answered because as the gate dropped for the first race of the day, it was Team Netherlands’ rider #7 Joe Maessen who got the best launch. Maessen made an excellent getaway but it wasn’t long before Team USA’s #2 rider Thomas Brown got the better of Maessen and led the race coming across the line for the first time. Italy’s #19 Andrea Cesari Jr made

The fight for grid places was therefore every bit as fiercely contested as any individual qualifying session. Whilst the air was cold, the overnight rain had passed, with the track in good condition. There was a sense of high drama in the air ahead of this gripping team event. A handsome entry list of over thirty-six crews was divided into three classes (A/B/C), but split into just two groups for free practice. For the actual qualifying races, the three groups would compete separately against
