EMX Quad European Championship: the title stays with Saar

DSC_0003
EMX Quad European Championship: the title stays with Saar Last round for the EMX Quad European Championship in Kaplice, Czech Republic. A short four-round season with twelve races was nonetheless a good enough platform to deliver outstanding racing between the top two protagonists. Behind them there were equally tight finishes as several top quad exponents threatened their supremacy. The Kaplice track lent itself to the Quad brigade very well, and speeds were high. A good crowd watched both days, with qualifying and three races to entertain them. Qualifying The timed session to determine the gate was initially a four-way scrap between Kevin Saar, Christopher Tveraen, Joakim Granli and Rick Haverdil. The Dutchman sat out the final six minutes, giving the Polish rider Roman Gwiazda the chance to squeeze into fourth fastest. Lap times were faster than the sidecars, but that is the norm given the four-wheeled configuration and only one

EMX Quad European Championship: Tveraen and Saar shone in Estonia The 2022 FIM EMX Quad European Championship arrived in Lange, Estonia at the half-way stage, with home hero Kevin Saar on target to retain his title. Race 1 The Norwegian Tveraen took initial control in this opening quad race but the reigning champion Saar, as ice-cool as ever, stayed in his wheel tracks, shadowing for the early laps. Gwiazda sat third ahead of Rick Haverdil from the Netherlands. At this stage there were four nations across the first four places. Joakim Granli also from Norway was in a good fifth place and these five riders were going away from the rest of the field. The geographic location of Lange, and the sheer travel distance had taken its toll on the entry list, keeping many of the other series contenders out of the equation. Six laps in and Saar had closed

EMX Quad European Championship

WSC-Loket-Saturday-Stijn-low-38
EMX Quad European Championship: Saar dominance is thwarted by re-ignited Tvaraen Second seasonal round for the EMX Quad European Championship. The race took place in Loket, in the Czech Republic. Race 1 As has been the case throughout much of the previous two seasons, Saar grabbed an early lead, with Tvaraen in second place and a flying Jan Brhel in third. This, however, was very short-lived as a mistake by Tvaraen saw Brhel take punishment, and crash out of podium contention, a great shame to what would have been a promising showing from the young Czech. Cappuccio used this to his advantage, and soon found himself in second place, being hounded by a resurgent Tvaraen, who had fell-victim to the red mist. Tvaraen swiftly passed Cappuccio and, with one goal in mind and adrenaline coursing through his veins, soon set about devouring the five-second advantage that Saar had built up

Markelo_Sunday_Morning-30
EMX Quad European Championship: Markelo is hunting ground for Saar Race 1 Twenty-seven eager Quadcross racers lined up on the gate to spark life into the 2022 EMX Quad European Championship. The close nature of the lap times during the earlier practice sessions suggested that a closely fought battle would be on our hands. From the gate drop it was Joe Maessen who took the hole-shot ahead of Christopher Tvaraen and reigning champion Kevin Saar. Throughout the first lap, Massen did a grand job of defending his lead, however Saar had other ideas and soon started implementing his plan of overhauling Tvaraen and himself. Onto the second lap, Saar put the power from his Yamaha down in superior fashion compared with Tvaraen, and soon found himself snapping at the heels of Joe Maessen. However, Maessen was quickly dispensed of, and Saar pulled the pin, and nobody saw which way he

EMX Quad European Championship: Saar and Tvaraen in fight for the win

DSC_9038
EMX Quad European Championship: Saar and Tvaraen fight for the win Race 1 - Kevin Saar got the holeshot but was closely followed by Roman Gwiazda and Christopher Tvaraen, with Saar and Tvaraen pulling out a significant gap over the Polish rider. Laptimes dropped into the 1:50’s in the beginning, evident that the Estonian and Norwegian were trying their absolute best. A rare mistake from Saar, in which he miscalculated one of the many jumps, led to Tvaraen having no where to go. He came down and the front portion of his Yamaha hit Kevin Saar’s back hard. It was clear that Saar was in a lot of discomfort from the impact, and Tvaraen was as apologetic as he could be however, we still had a race on our hands. Tvaraen pulled out an advantage of 6 seconds almost by the time Saar had regrouped and found his groove. He

EMX Quad European Championship: Kevin Saar ruled in Jinin 21 riders from all areas on Europe had descended onto the MX Enduro Park in Jinin, in the Czech Republic, for what would be the first round of their championship. The atmosphere had a distinctive electricity about it, and this was only going to grow as the action for the day unfolded. Qualifying - This got underway in sublime conditions. The track was freshly watered, the sun was beating down and the quads were as every bit as good as what we have become accustomed to. The main man that everybody wanted to beat was 6-time Estonian Champion and 3-time European Champion, Kevin Saar. Things were going well for Saar in the early stages of the qualifying session but there was one thing that I suspect nobody took into account, Norwegian rider Christopher Tveraen. Christopher put in an absolutely fantastic time
