Speedway European Championship: Robert Lambert rules the first round After the long lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak, finally this weekend the Speedway European Championship kicked off in Torun, Poland, with a new calendar based on five rounds. The meeting was raced in a sunny day: rider Robert Lambert claimed his victory after a brave attack on the last bend of the final heat when he defeated the local favourite Bartosz Smektała, fourth. Second position for the Danish Nicki Pedersen and third for Leon Madsen. The next round will be on 08th July in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The standing:

European Mini Road Racing Championship 2020 After the emergency situation due to Coronavirus outbreak, the FIM Europe announces that the Mini Moto Road Racing European Championship – originally scheduled at Assen (The Netherlands) on the weekend of August 2nd - it will be postponed on September 18th-20th in Italy, at Adria International Raceway. The decision has been taken thanks to the big efforts of the FMI (the Italian Motorcycling Federation) and Moto Club CMV, which have welcomed it with enthusiastic although the difficulties of the current situation, which is gradually improving. Adria International Raceway is a top level track that can host at the same time Mini Moto e Mini Bike specialities inside its two renewed circuits. Poland hosts TAURON Speedway Euro Championship An unprecedented situation in the world of speedway just becomes reality. Poland will host five rounds of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2020. For the first time in history the entire Individual European Championship series will be held in one country. Due to recent events caused by COVID-19, TAURON SEC promotors decided, that all rounds of this year's competition will be held in Poland. What's more, instead of the conventional four rounds, this time, riders will participate in a five-round series. Toruń (inaugural and final round), Bydgoszcz, Gniezno and Rybnik were selected as host cities of the Individual European Championship 2020. Because of the current difficult situation, qualification rounds and SEC Challenge have to be cancelled. This season the participating riders, were selected by national federations to represent their countries at the Individual European Championships. With that being said, Mikkel Michelsen will defend the title.

2020 Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations It is with great regret that FIM Europe has to announce the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations which was to have been held at Varsseveld in The Netherlands on 3rd and 4th of October. The decision has been jointly made between FIM Europe, the KNMV and the Varsseveld organiser because of the uncertainty of travel for some teams, the financial impact that the Covid 19 virus has had on the competitors and their Federations, and also the fact that although the Dutch government will allow sporting fixtures to resume as from September, but with no public attendance. Without spectators the event is obviously not financially viable. The Sidecarcross of Nations has been organised continuously and successfully since the year 2000 and was joined by the Quadcross of Nations in 2009. This annual National team event

EMX65, EMX85 and Women’s Championships’ cancelled for 2020 FIM Europe regrets to announce that due to the global COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 European Championships EMX65, EMX85 and Women’s are cancelled. The EMX65 andEMX85 championships should have taken place in four zone: South East, South West, North East, North West and the finals were set to take place at the popular Loket circuit in Czech Republic, with the EMXGP and many of the European youngest talents due to gather for another fantastic weekend of racing. Unfortunately, due to the current global situation, this will not be possible in 2020 as most of the EMX65 and EMX85 events were supposed to run in spring/summer and can not be re-scheduled in autumn due to the school calendar. Update of required rider’s protection for 2020 for EMX65/85/125 The FIM Europe, in cooperation with the FIM, is working on improving the safety and well-being of riders. In order to harmonize FIM Europe rules with the rules of FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, the FIM Europe is extending required protective equipment for EMX65/85/125 classes to include also shoulder, elbow and knee protection. As stated in the FIM Europe motocross rules for 2020, paragraph 01.2.8.3: riders must wear unmodified, commercially available, full upper body protection (back and front) at all times whilst on the track; riders in EMX65, EMX85 and EMX125 must wear commercially available, unmodified shoulder, elbow and knee protection at all times whilst on the track; riders in all other classes including quad riders and sidecar drivers and passengers are recommended to use shoulder, elbow and knee protection at all times whilst on the track. MACEC 2020 General Assembly The 2020 General Assembly of MACEC (Motorcycle Association of Central European Countries) was held on 7th March Lviv (Ukraine). The following member federations were present: BFMS (Belarus), FMRM (Moldova) FMU (Ukraine), FRM (Romania), PZM (Poland) and SMF (Slovakia). MACEC President Andrzej Grodzki opened the meeting, welcomed all participants – among them the 1st Vice President Michal Sikora and FIM Europe Honorary Vice President Andrzej Witkowski. FMU President Vadym Kopylov welcomed everybody, expressed his satisfaction to host the MACEC General Assembly in Lviv and wished a fruitful meeting. The MACEC – affiliating 8 European federations - is one of the six Regional Associations in the framework of FIM Europe, the others are: AAMU (Alpe-Adria Motorcycle Union), AAM (Association Méditerranéenne de Motocyclisme), BMA (Baltic Motorcyclists Association), BMU (Balkan Motorcycle Union) and NMC (Nordic Motorsport Council).
