Yamaha R3 Super Finale: Emiliano Ercolani celebrates victory in Portimao After firing to victory in Race 2, Italian youngster Emiliano Ercolani claimed the inaugural Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale title at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal, earning him a spot on the 2023 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup grid with full support from Yamaha. Having scored a podium finish in the opening race this morning, Ercolani edged ahead of France’s Evann Plaindoux in the final standings, with 2021 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup rider Kayla Yaakov impressing on her return to European racing in third overall. Spain’s Unai Calatayud led the field away from pole position in Race 1, but was quickly demoted behind home hero David Da Costa and Ercolani, who traded positions out front throughout the opening lap. European Street Freestyle Championship: triple Round in Germany The first, second and third round to the European Street Freestyle Championship was organized in the context of the famous INTERMOT exhibition at Cologne, Germany. Riders from four European nations performed an exciting show for the large number of spectators present at the event. Each day, a free practice, one Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final were organized in perfect weather conditions. Day 1 In race 1 Hungarian riders ruled the competition: Balazs Herczeg confirmed his good shape winning in front of Vegh Tamas, second, and Kötel Istvan, third. Day 2 Race 2 saw the major duel between the young Polish rider Rafal Kownacki and the Hungarian Kötel Istvan fighting for the second place, while the victory goes to Balazs Herczeg again. Supersport 300 Cup: Guido Berselli crowned champion at Brno Circuit The round at Brno Circuit concluded the 2022 season of the Supersport 300 Cup that saw Guido Berselli wrap up the title at the end of the race two. The fifth and last event of the calendar, hosted in the Czech Republic, was raced in mixed weather conditions, as Friday’s free practice sessions were wet, while Saturday’s qualifying and Sunday’s races on a dry asphalt. This did not hinder the spirits of the fans who showed their support. The strong result of Berselli, with a win and a second position, also meant that he secured the gold medal in the championship standings, while Patrycja Sowa tried until the last to grab the title. 2022 Motocross of European Nations Entry Lists The FIM Europe and Infront Moto Racing are delighted to release the entry lists for the 2022 FIM Europe Motocross of European Nations and the Women’s Motocross of European Nations taking place in Talavera de la Reina, Spain on the 8th and 9th of October. This will be the first time since 2019 that the event will make its return. Last time, the event was hosted in Gdansk, Poland, where Team Italy ended up on the top step once again, while in the women’s division it was Team Netherlands who ended up on top. The competition will be fierce this year with 10 teams in the men’s and 12 in the women’s, it will be interesting to see if the reigning champions can defend their crowns this time around in Spain. European Under 23 Team Speedway Championship: Final postponed to next weekend Due to the heavy rain and the bad track condition, for the sake of both safety of the riders and attractivity of racing, the European U23 Team Speedway Final scheduled for this weekend will be postponed to Sunday October 9th. This decision was taken by Mr Piotr Szymanski, Chairman of the Track Racing Commission, in agreement with the Team Managers and the Organizer, after consultation with some TRC members and FMN representatives. The new date has been agreed also to permit the TV coverage, as this is an important European Final event and it will be live broadcasted. Bajas European Championship: Baja TT Sharish Gin The last seasonal event of the Bajas European Championship took place together with the Baja TT Sharish Gin, raced in Reguengos des Monsarez and Maurao, Portugal, in the last weekend of September. The race took place in the Alentejo region, well-known for wine and olives: 3 days of action with a prologue test of 9,25 km on Friday, two sections of 65 km and 150 km on Saturday and again the section of 150 km on Sunday. After 500 km on hard gravel roads and terrain around Monsarez Castle and Alqueva lake, the Portuguese riders ruled the race, making the challenge for the standings even more thrilling. Supermoto S4 and SM Junior European Championship: Alex Ruiz is the new S4 European Champion The track of Castelletto di Branduzzo hosted an intense racing day which was full of emotions. Alex Ruiz Jemenez (L30 Racing TM Factory) was crowned Supermoto S4 European Champion, while in SM Junior Mathias Vetkin won the next to last event. S4 Race 1 Alessandro Morosi (Gazza Racing Honda) stretched away at the front as the red lights blinked off and was followed by Kevin Vandi (L30 Racing TM Factory), who was not able to get the best out of his third position. Tough start also for Alex Ruiz Jemenez (L30 Racing TM Factory), who lost several positions after the start. There was a coup de théâtre after the second lap when the race directors awarded a 20-second time penalty to Morosi because of his disallowed start.
