Motocross European Championships: 2023 calendar update The FIM Europe, together with Infront Moto Racing and the FIM, would like to share an update to the 2023 Motocross European Championships' calendar. The MXGP of Finland which is set to take place on July the 29th and 30th will see a change of venue as it will now take place in Vantaa. Unfortunately, the infrastructure is not able to receive many classes, so the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing races are cancelled. Additionally, the MXGP of Great Britain set in Matterley Basin and previously scheduled on October the 1st, will be brought forward to September the 23rd and 24th featuring the EMX250 and EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing classes line up for the final round of the 2023 season. Cancellation of the last round of the EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship – South East zone The FIM Europe together with the AMSS, the Auto-Moto Association of Serbia, regret to inform that the last round of the EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship – South East zone is officially cancelled. The event was to take place on 17th-18th June at the motocross track of Globare, Serbia, but due the extremely unfavourable weather conditions and the heavy rain felt last weekend in the region it’s impossible to guarantee the functionality of the track. The FIM Europe takes the occasion to remember that the Semi-Final between SE and SW zones will take place on 1st-2nd July in Gazzane di Preseglie, Italy, while the Semi-Final between CE and NE zones is scheduled on 24th-25th June in Axel, in the Netherlands. In EMX250, it was Team VRT KTM Factory Juniors’ Marc-Antoine Rossi who won his first EMX250 round of his career with showing great speed in front of Red Plate holder Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team’s Andrea Bonacorsi and BT Racing Team’s Kay Karssemakers getting his 4th consecutive podium. S4 and SM Junior European Championships: Gomez and Albrecht won in Germany The riders of the S4 and SM Junior put on a great show that paid off the audience arrived in St. Wendel. In the S4, Spanish Francisco Gomez Requena (Husqvarna) triumphed thanks to a double victory and Kevin Vandi (L30 Racing Tm Factory) is the current Championship leader, while young German Til Albrecht starred in the SM Junior. Kevin Saar does it again in EMX Quad European Championship and starts the new season with a win The first round of the EMX Quad European Championship officially kicked off last weekend in the beautiful track of Lange near the city of Tartu. Situated in south-east Estonia, it is the second largest city in the country about 180 km away from the capital Tallinn. The first seasonal race out of five saw 18 riders fight for the win in good weather conditions and in a friendly atmosphere. European Champion Kevin Saar was the man to beat at the first event of the 2023 Championship and Race 1 featured the win of Norwegian Joakim Granli who managed to take on the challenge of defeating Kevin Saar by a comfortable margin. European Sidecar Championship: QR in Loppersum won by the Meier’s Loppersum in the Netherlands was the venue for this Sidecar qualification round. 11 teams were prepared to battle for 6 spots in the final. Under very hot summer condition 2300 spectators saw very good and exciting action on the track. 12 qualification heats provided the line ups for the 3 finals. Manuel Meier with passenger Melanie Meier went directly to the final with 10 points. He was joined in the final by Markus Brandhofer and passenger Sandra Mollema, who also racked up 10 points. The B final provided the other 2 teams to the A final, Danish/German pair of Mike Frederiksen and passenger Desiree Holstein together with French pair Rémi Valladon and passenger Dylan Fourcade. Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championships: second round in Austria After round 1 in Landshaag the second round of the Hill Climb and Vintage Hill Climb European Championships was raced last weekend in sunny and warm conditions in Julbach, Austria. With huge support of local authorities, the event was organized in a very professional background. Big public attendance has seen record braking laptime between three main rivals in Superbike class: Italian Maurizio Botatalico (BMW), French David Jean Luc (Honda) and home hero Andread Gangl (Suzuki).
