CEV Repsol Moto2 and European Talent Cup at Valencia (Spain) – Day 2

This weekend the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo is hosting the fourth round of the FIM CEV Repsol. In Moto2™, Eric Granado (Promoracing, photo1) earned a double victory and in the European Talent Cup Álex Toledo (Cradle of Champions, photo2) got on the top step of the podium for the first time. In Moto2™, Eric Granado (Promoracing) took a double win at a circuit where he always performs well and where he won last season. The first race of the Moto2™ European Championship was stopped on the first lap after a fall involving Xavier Cardelús (Team Stylobike) and Marc Luna (Team Wimu CNS), while Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) was heading the race. European Track Racing Sidecar Championship Final at Tayac (France)

The track of Tayac, in France, hosted the final of the Sidecar European Championship, which caught the attention of around 1000 spectators. The meeting was held with the excellent work of the club staff that permitted a great Final. The weather was hot, in a sunny, partially cloudy day. All the heats were interesting and in the whole day there were two crashes with no serious injuries for the riders and their passengers. William  Matthijssen - Sandra Mollema from Netherlands are the European Sidecar Champions for second time in a row. The victory was not very easy for the Dutch team because during the Final A they had a close fight with the German Team of Markus Brandhofer and Tim Scheunemann, who finished in the second position. Enduro European Championship at Paikuse (Estonia) – Day2

Today the second day of the Enduro European Championship Round 2 was held in Paikuse, Estonia and the overall victory was taken by the young Italian rider Matteo Pavoni (KTM, photo1) who also won the Junior E1 class. Matteo Pavoni The weather was very favourable for enduro riding today as well – it rained slightly at night and in the morning, most of the day was cloudy and the heat did not frighten the riders. “I had a very good day today. Enduro European Championship at Paikuse (Estonia)

Today the local rider Rannar Uusna (class Senior E3) won the opening day of the Enduro European Championship Round 2 in Paikuse, Estonia. “I made one small mistake in the Enduro Test but otherwise I had a smooth day“, said Uusna who after the first round of the Championship was holding the fifth position. Before the race Uusna set out to win in the familiar sandy conditions of his home country and he kept his promise.  “I had no problems today with my bike and I rode as well as I could.“ Uusna's time today was 42:25.97 and he was 3 seconds faster than the second in overall classification – Matteo Pavoni from Italy who also won the Junior E1 class. This weekend the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo will be the scene of the fourth round of the FIM CEV Repsol, with pole positions being taken by  Eric Granado (Promoracing) in Moto2™ and Francisco Gómez (Team Larresport) in the European Talent Cup. In Moto2™, Eric Granado (Promoracing - Photo1) achieved his first pole of the season with a time of 1:36.108, repeating his strong performance at this circuit last season, where he also led off the Moto2™ European Championship race. Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) posted the best time in Q2 which puts him in second slot on Sunday, as he was in previous rounds in Albacete and Barcelona. Ricky Cardús (Team Stylobike) will close out the front row of the grid. ÖAMTC supports the campaign #3500LIVES

3500 lives are lost every day worldwide in traffic. ÖAMTC (founding member of FIM as well as FIA) supports the campaign. The kick-off was held at the new headquarters of ÖAMTC in Vienna in the presence of F1 stars Fernando Alonso und Valtteri Bottas. Werner Kraus, ÖAMTC Honorary President and Trustée of the FIA-Foundation stated: „500 children are killed every day in traffic accidents, and among those from 15 to 29 years traffic accidents are the #1 cause of death. Urgent and global action is needed.“ ÖAMTC Director Oliver Schmerold added: „Every week eight people die in Austria in traffic accidents; in 2016 eight children were injured every day. There is a need for urgent action.“ FIM Europe President Wolfgang Srb: „Road Safety is, beside sport, our second most important pillar, as recently stated at the FIM Europe Congress in Rome. European Stocksport 300 Cup at Grobnik-Rijeka (Croatia)

The circuit of Grobnik-Rijeka, in Croatia, hosted the European Stocksport 300. After a big crash at Slovakiaring, Peter Kačaba was the fastest in qualiyfing practice. Second position for Daniel Blin in front of Vojtech Schwartz and Andrej Schwartz. Daniel Blin (in the photo) won race1 in front of Vojtech Schwarz. Daniel was second in the opening laps of the race behind Peter Kačaba, but Peter crashed and the way to another win for Daniel was open. Third position for Lennart Ulbel in front of Bor Klemenc and Andrej Schwarz. In race2 Daniel Blin had the easiest way to the second win in this weekend. He snatched the victory in front of Vojtech Schwarz and Lennart Ulbel. Fourth position for Ondrej Schwarz ahead of Bor Klemenc. European Supermoto S2 & S4 at Busca (Italy)

In warm and sunny weather conditions, the track of Kart Planet in Busca was ready to host the third round of the 2017 S2 European Supermoto Championship.  TM Factory rider Thomas Chareyre took the overall victory and the red plate back in the S2 class. In the S4 class L30 Honda Racing rider Kevin Vandi took the victory and, more important, the first S4 European Championship title. S2 When the lights dropped for the first race in Busca, it was defending World Champion and TM Factory rider Thomas Chareyre who took the hole shot into the first fast corner, followed by BRT SWM rider Marc-Reiner Schmidt, TM Factory rider Diego Monticelli and Tuning Motorsport rider Milan Sitniansky. FIM Europe Congress in Rome (Italy) – Day3

The 23rd FIM Europe Congress in Rome (Italy) finished successfully today with the Meetings of the Sporting and Non-Sporting Councils, the Management Council as well as the General Assembly in the afternoon. There were 39 National Federations present and over 250 delegates. Important decisions were taken, among them the approval of the 2016 Balance-sheet and of the 2017 Budget. Comprehensive reports have been presented about the Sporting as well the Non-Sporting activities. During the General Assembly there were the reports of Martin de Graaff, Michal Sikora, Silvio Manicardi and  Laurent Delbroek. The FIM President Vito Ippolito addressed the audience as well as Wim van de Camp, member of the European Parliament. In his speech the FMI President Giovanni Copioli brought the wishes of CONI President Giovanni Malagò who was saddened not be at the Congress but who wanted to make the audience know that he shares the FIM Europe aims. “I am very pleased
