European Moto2 and European Talent Cup at Estoril (Portugal)

The Circuito do Estoril in Portugal was the scene of the European Moto2 and European Talent Cup at Estoril, in Portugal. In Moto2™, Eric Granado (Promoracing, photo1) once again achieved a double, the second in a row and his fourth win of the season. The clear leader of the category took victory after pulling away with Ricky Cardús (Team Stylobike), Steven Odendaal (NTS Sportscode T Pro) and Lukas Tulovic (Forward Junior Team). Behind the leading riders, Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) was forced to fight back after starting from seventh place on the grid. Ricky Cardús (Team Stylobike) bore the weight of the race while poleman Tulovic gradually lost touch enabling Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) to pick him up with two laps remaining. EMX65 at Loket (Czech Republic)

Everyone loves the sound of two strokes and the young rippers of EMX65 took theirs on the circuit of Loket this weekend. In front of thousands of fans the Danish rider, Mads Fredsoe Sorensen, was crowned as the 2017 EMX65 European Champion today. With area races throughout the year, this weekend’s racing was the pinnacle of the season and the lone championship decider, a highlight for not only riders but fans alike. This weekend was also scheduled to host the EMX85 Championship Final but it was cancelled after a red flag incident resulted in the tragic loss of the young Moldovian rider Igor Cuharciuc. In the EMX65 race one on Saturday the two dutch youngsters, Ivano Van Erp and Damian Knuiman, had a fierce battle for the lead all the way to the finish after the early race leader, Jaka Peklaj while crossing finish jump. European Pairs Speedway Championship at Zarnovica (Slovakia)

The track of Zarnovica, in Slovakia, hosted the European Pairs Speedway Championship Semi Final 2. The meeting was run on a very well prepared track in sunny, hot weather and 2000 spectators followed with interest the event. The first place was decided in Run Off and the winner was Mateusz Szczepaniak (PZM) in front of Kudryashov (MFR) and Bogdanovs (LaMSF). The three top pairs qualified to the Final which will be held in Lonigo (Italy) on 30th September 2017.

FIM Europe Road Safety Conference in Rome (Italy)

The 23rd FIM Europe Congress in Rome (Italy) hosted the 11th edition of Road Safety Conference, which traditionally deals with the most important and updated topics of the matter. In the latest years, the Road Safety Conference dealt with road accidents, industry responses and initiatives, the systems to improve Road Safety, traumatic injuries and first aid, 2 wheeler behaviour and safety, roadside barriers and crash tests, and devices derived from track, such as airbag for motorcyclists. Last year, the Road Safety Conference dealt with themes related with the development of electronics and technology. European Individual Speedway at Güstrow (Germany)

Artem Laguta won the second SEC round in Güstrow, Germany, in front of Andzejs Lebedevs and Krzysztof Kasprzak. The first German fans went into the stadium only a moment after the gates opening, but campers popular in speedway world were staying near the stadium the day before. In the first series the wild card Kai Huckenbeck, who was third in Güstrow last year, won his first race. His second heat made a lot of noise on the stands too, because oatn the last corner he passed Andrey Kudryashov. Russian Artem Laguta won his first and second race with huge advantage, which pushed him forward in the general standings. In heat 9 Laguta faced two other favourites for the whole tournnament victory. Andzejs Lebedevs and Vaclav Milik did a beautiful fight. European Individual Speedway at Güstrow (Germany) – Preview

This weekend the track of Güstrow, in Germany, is going to host the second final of the European Individual Speedway Championship. The first final was at the Motorena of Torun, in Poland, where Jarosław Hampel started as a wild card and won in front of Vaclav Milik and Andzejs Lebedevs. The final was held in bad weather conditions: the organizers had to cancel the practice due to rainfall. Luckly, the track was good enough to start the competition at 19:00. At last, fans watched an exciting show. The first heat showed how important Speedway European Championship really is for riders. Russian Grigorij Laguta, from the second gate, did not manage to control the pressure and broke the tape. Therefore, Paweł Przedpełski had a chance to start in his hometown in SEC.
