European Enduro at Gelnica (Slovakia) - Day2

The second day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place at Gelnica, in Slovakia today. In four classes the European Champions have already been crowned. The first new European champion was Joakim Grelsson in the U20 class for 125cc riders. In the morning the Swede was just nine points ahead, but his countryman and challenger Calle Johansson had technical problems and went out prematurely. So the KTM rider won this title as well as the working-pavilion, which the promoter Wolfgang Butzner had donated as support for the youngest riders. The KTM rider needed just a fourth place in his class to catch the title, but he managed to win and in the very last special stage he did the fastest time and finished in second position in the overall. European Enduro at Gelnica (Slovakia) - Day1

The first day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place today at Gelnic, in Slovakia. More than 180 kms of challenging offroad trails had to be crossed. In the overall, Junior Matteo Pavoni was able to defend his leadership with a seventh position. The second rider in the championship, Oscar Balletti, suffered from a technical problem and the former third, the Italian Maurizio Micheluz, two times overall champion, won the special tests. Meeting of the Nordic Motorsport Council in Reykjavík (Iceland)

On October 7th the annual Nordic Motorsport Council meeting took place at the Hilton Reykjavík Nordic Hotel, hosted by the Icelandic Motorcycle and Snowmobile Association. The Presidents and Secretaries General of DMU (Denmark), MSI (Iceland), NMF (Norway), SML (Finland) and Svemo (Sweden) took part to the meeting. Also FIM Europe 1st Deputy President Martin de Graaff and Secretary General Alessandro Sambuco were present. “It was a great pleasure to host the NMC conference this year and have our colleagues from the Nordic countries and visitors from FIM Europe visit Iceland”, stated Hrafnkell Sigtryggsson, NMC President. “There are many similarities among the countries despite their different sizes and we all seem to share the same challenges within the motorcycling sports. At MotorLand Aragón Ricky Cardús (Team Stylobike) and Eric Granado (Promoracing - photo1) shared the honours in the Moto2™ European Championship. In the European Talent Cup Alejandro Díez (Team Honda Impala, photo2) and Maikon Kawakami (Playstation Laglisse Academy, photo3) both won for the first time. Ricky Cardus (Team Stylobike) prevailed in the first race of the Moto2™EC, making good on his third pole of the season. The Team Stylobike rider and Eric Granado (Promoracing) took the lead in a group that included Steven Odendaal (NTS Sportcode T.Pro), Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) and Joe Roberts (AGR Team), the quickest riders of the weekend. At MotorLand Aragón this weekend Ricky Cardús (Team Stylobike, photo1) in Moto2™ and Manuel González (Halcourier Racing, photo2) in the European Talent Cup took pole in their respective categories. In the European Kawasaki Z Cup Raul Martínez (Motorbike Moya Competition) won the first race of two this weekend from pole position (photo3). Ricky Cardús (Team Stylobike) gave his rivals no chance in Moto2™, taking his third - and second consecutive - pole of the season with a time of 1:53.920. He was the only rider to lap under 1.54, beating Eric Granado (Promoracing) by 0.2. European Superstock 1000 and Supersport at Magny Cours (France) - Day 2

In the Superstock 1000 European Championship race at the Pirelli French Round a great last lap battle between two home riders, Jeremy Guarnoni (Pedercini Racing Kawasaki) and Florian Marino (Pata Yamaha Official STK1000 Team), saw Guarnoni take a tight victory over his compatriot Marino. Italian rider Federico Sandi (Berclaz Racing Team) took third place to complete the podium. Guarnoni got the better of Marino in the final stages of the race, outpacing his fellow Frenchman on the last lap to ultimately cross the finish line by a 0.414s winning margin for another Magny-Cours triumph. The second place result for Marino, meanwhile, keeps him in the title fight going into the final round at Jerez in three weeks’ time. European Pairs Speedway Final at Lonigo (Italy)

The European Pairs Speedway Final was held at Lonigo (Italy) in front of 1800 spetactors in a sunny day. Nineteen riders were present, representing 7 teams. Poland-Italy  It was an entertaining meeting with a lot of close racing and several passes, especially in the first half of the meeting. Poland won the 2017 Pairs Championship dominating the meeting. The runner-up place went to Russia while France climbed on the last step of the rostrum. Russia-Poland The hosting Country Italy finished at the fourth place with Covatti scoring 12 points out of 15 of the total of the team.
