Two Scandinavian races enrich the Dragbike European Championship Last weekend FIM Europe Acting President has visited the Dragbike European Championship in Santa Pod (UK). The first purpose was to enjoy the exiting races in a combined event for cars and motorbikes. The second part was the important meeting at the end of the race day. The organizers of Hockenheim (Germany), Tierp (Sweden) and Kauhave (Finland) discussed the future of the European Championship Dragbike with Keith Bartlett, CEO of Trakbak, and the representatives of FIM Europe, Martin de Graaff and commission member Job Heezen. Positive news for the current season, as the calendar has been expended with two events: the Scandinavian races in Tierp on 8th-9th June and in Kauhava on 6th-7th July. Tragic accident in Cross Country European Cup in Vesivehmaa, Finland On Sunday the Cross Country European Cup opening round in Finland had to be interrupted as a result of a serious accident in the first half of the three-hour race due to a serious accident. Rider Antti Pendikainen lost the control of his bike and died at the accident site. EMX 250 European Championship and EMX 125 European Championship 2T: Rubini and Guyon fight to French EMX wins Saint Jean D'Angely, France, hosted the FIM Europe’s EMX250 and EMX125 presented by FMF Racing championships. As the third round in the 2019 EMX250 Championship, the round of France followed a month and half hiatus since the last stop at Trentino. Coming into this weekend all eyes were on Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato as led the championship following his perfect races in both the UK and Italy. The first race of the two took place on Saturday after morning qualifying provided an entry list of the top 40 riders. EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship South West zone: 3rd round in Portugal Fernao Joanes in Guarda, Portugal, hosted the 3rd round of the EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship South West zone on a technical hardpack track. In EMX85 the qualifying race was won by the French Prugnieres Quentin in front of the Spanish Canet Edgard and Puig Victor. Thrilling the EMX65: the Spanish Joel Canadas and the French Cayenne Danion changed places 15 times from start to finish, followed by another Spanish rider, Jose Zambudio. EMX 85 race 1 was ruled by qualifying winner Prugnieres, while second position for Maxime Grau. Situation unchanged at the end of the race. Ruler of the weekend was the Estonian rider Kevin Saar, winner of both the two races. Supermoto S2: second seasonal victory for Thomas Chareyre After an absence of two years the S2 Supermoto European Championship was back at the circuit of KartPlanet in Busca, Italy, for the second round of the season. With rain falling from the skies 21 riders took part to this one-day round. At Race1 start it was TM Factory Racing rider Thomas Chareyre who took the hole shot into the first long left corner of the KartPlanet track. Chareyre was followed by Phoenix Racing riders Markus Class and Elia Sammartin who was in his turn followed by the teammate of Chareyre, Diego Monticelli. In fifth position it was Nicolas Cousin also from Phoenix. EMX 2T presented by FMF Racing: Mike Kras picks up Portuguese win Picking up his second overall win in a row this weekend in Agueda, Portugal, is Team Ecomaxx Fuels’ Mike Kras. As the third round of the European 2t Championship, Portugal provided perfect conditions. Starting with Saturday’s Race1 it was Kras in the lead just edging out his teammate Youri Van t Ende. This points leader coming into the weekend was Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson who, after getting a decent start in 5ththrough the first corners, crashed during the opening lap. The crash from Anderson put him way back in the pack registering 17th after the first official lap. Todd Kellett took 3rdaway from Andrea Vendruscolo early and then got into second past Van t Ende the next lap around. Emanuele Alberio was having a strong ride in 4thposition before losing spots to Vaclav Kovar, A1M Husqvarna’s Andero Lusbo, and Brad Todd as the race went on.
