EMX 250 and EMX 2T European Championship: Alberto Forato and Brad Anderson winners and points leaders The Matterley Basin circuit was host to much more than just the MXGP and MX2 World Championship racing this weekend as the FIM Europe Motocross Championship joined in the action. Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato and Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson came in force to start their respective championship seasons as both winners and points leaders. The well know class of EMX250 is a breeding ground for potential MX2 and later MXGP stars as proven by many former graduates but this weekend at the grassy and green hills of Matterley Basin an all new category joined in alongside. The all new EMX2T presented by FMF Racing sang for the first time this year and ever over the past 2 days. 2019 FIM Europe Snowcross Joins World Championship in Sweden

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) XX February 2019 - Youthstream is happy to announce that the 2019 FIM Europe Snowcross Championship will take place the 5-6th of April alongside the SNX World Championship at the Bodentravet trotting track in Sweden’s northern town of Boden.     Last year the best Snowcross riders in Europe competed in Finland where Pär Vikman dominated the class with perfect race results to take the title. Jonas Laakkonen and Robert Lunden took 3rd and 2nd last year but will likely head to Sweden this April for their chance to take the title of European Champion from Vikman! New Updates to the 2019 MXGP and EMX Calendar

With the 2019 MXGP Season on the horizon Youthstream announces a revised calendar for the FIM Motocross World Championship which involves also EMX 2T, EMX 125 and EMX250. The calendar which will start on March the 2nd and the 3rd at the beautiful Patagonia-Argentina Circuit of Neuquen. Firstly, the MXGP of Switzerland anticipated for August has been cancelled and is instead working to return to the calendar in the 2020 season. Following the removal of Switzerland, the MXGP of Italy in Imola will now be held on the 17th and 18th of August instead of the 21st and 22nd of September. Meanwhile the MXGP of Hong Kong will move from the 20th and 21st of April to the now available 21st and 22nd of September as per the local organization request. 2019 European Motocross Championship Calendar Updated

With the conclusion of the 2018 season Youthstream and FIM Europe announce the calendar for the 2019 European Motocross Championship, in the context of World Motocross Championship. As previously announced there will be MXGP’s return to Great Britain at the Matterley Basin circuit, Valkenswaard for the MXGP of the Netherlands, and the MXGP of Trentino at Pietramurata. The series will then return to the MXGP of Lombardia in Italy, as the MXGP of Russia will be held in June. Between the rounds of Italy and Russia MXGP will return to Agueda, Portugal for a third year in a row along with a second consecutive year at the MXGP of France in Saint Jean d’Angély. FIM Europe and Youthstream explain the changes to the Regulations for the 2019 FIM Europe Motocross European Championships Youthstream and FIM Europe work for the overall interest of the sport, therefore some slight adjustments will be made to the some of the 2019 European Championship Regulations as explained below. The European Championships were mainly created to help youth grow and help them prepare for MX2 and then MXGP and be competitive in these classes. This pyramid system is working well because together with this fact and by having the youth race on the same tracks and same weekends as MXGP and on tracks which are very technically demanding it has permitted all these riders to grow and implement their skills. The weekend of 29th and 30th September, the Imola circuit hosted the 2018 FIM Motocross World Championship, the last round of the WMX and EMX300 Presented by FMF Racing plus the YZ125 bLU cRU Cup SuperFinale, Wrapping up a perfect weekend with victory in race two, young Swiss rider Kevin Brumann is the 2018 YZ125 bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale overall winner. EMX 300 at Imola (Italy)

The world famous Autodromo Enzo & Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola hosted the Championship deciding races of EMX300 presented by FMF Racing where Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson renewed his title and became the newest FIM Europe Champion. Imola is known for its road racing circuit but its history in motocross goes back 70 years when the first Motocross International races were held on its grounds. This weekend a massive amount of soil was moved to create an epic motocross track where the returning sound of two strokes echoed of the hillsides. GL12 Racing’s Mike Kras was 27 points behind Brad Anderson from Verde Substance KTM coming into the weekend. Italian riders of the past honoured in Imola MXGP

Yesterday afternoon during the MXGP of Italy at Imola’s Autodromo Enzo & Dino Ferrari circuit former Italian motocross champions were honored and given certificates from FIM Europe President Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FMI President Giovanni Copioli and President of Formula Imola Uberto Selvatico Estense. Dr. Wolfgang Srb spent time congratulating the riders with the certificates that acknowledged the great significance of their impressive careers combined with the occasion of this GP and the 70-year anniversary of motocross at Imola. Various Italian riders were present and awarded and among the others we remember Emilio Ostorero, 16-time Italian Champion in both 250cc and 500cc during 1950, 1960, and 1970, Canzio Tosi 5-time Motocross Italian champion in 250cc and 500cc and Italo Forni (Italy), 500cc Motocross Italian Champion in 1974 and part of the Fiamme Oro group.
