CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship and Hawkers European Talent Cup: epic round 2 in Valencia The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, Valencia, played host to a stunning Sunday of FIM CEV Repsol action with epic battles all the way through the day’s action-packed races. The Moto2™ ECh was just as intriguing, although a red flag also came out after the first few laps of the race for an accident involving Leon Orgis (Avintia Esponsorama Junior Team). On the restart, it was Alonso Lopez (Boscoscuro Talent Team-Ciatti) who grabbed the holeshot ahead of Taiga Hada (AGR Team), but soon enough it was 16-year-old sensation Fermin Aldeguer (Boscoscuro Talent Team-Ciatti) who carved his way through to cruise to a third victory from his first three races, whilst Lopez was once again second. Remembering Fabio Fazi The FIM Europe is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Fabio Fazi following a long-term illness. He was member of the FIM International Technical Commission (CTI) since 1983 and Director since 2019, which included a decade as a Technical Member of the FIM Road Racing Commission (2000-2010) and nine years as the Technical Director of the FIM Superbike World Championship (2004-2013). Fabio was born in Ancona, Italy, in 1949 and gained a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bologna in 1977. During his extended and flourishing design and engineering career he recorded six FIM World speed records for vehicles 85-100cc alongside Mauro Sanchini and was involved in numerous sporting projects at the highest level. This included Max Biaggi’s Electric Motorcycle Speed record achieved in 1994. The whole FIM Europe wants to express its condolences to his wife and family.

Cross Country Cup: open-door race in Lithuania   The city of Kalvarija, Lithuania, located in the Marijampolė County close to the border with Poland, hosted the Cross Country Cup on Saturday 1st May. 43 riders from six countries -Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia- faced an open-door race of 10 km with a sunny weather. The race day started with the Open EU Class: Nerimantas Jucius (Husqvarna) from Lithuania was the first one to cross the finish line ahead of Tanel Rauk from Estonian and Dmitriy Parshin from Russia. Džiugas Kazakevičius (GasGas) from Lithuania won the Junior Class and home rider Danielius Žostautas the Senior Class. In the Woman Class the Estonian Krissu Konoplitski (KTM) had the best; second position for another Estonian rider Jane Ilves and third place for Violeta Nedzinskaitė from Lithuania. CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship and Hawkers European Talent Cup: thrilling season kicks off in Portugal First round of the season at the Circuito Estoril in Portugal with all races final lap fights. The Moto2™ ECh gave two thrilling races. Race 1 saw a major duel between Fermin Aldeguer and Alonso Lopez, as both battled hard and studied each other, whilst Lucas Tulovic (Liqui Moly Intact SIC Racing Team) watched on in third until a crash at Turn 7 – the German pole-sitter was ok. That left Lopez in the lead from Aldeguer until the final lap, where Aldeguer pounced at Turn 6, holding on to take victory. In third place was Adam Norrodin (Liqui Moly Intact SIC Racing Team), giving the Malaysian a career-first podium. Race 2 was even more dramatic; Aldeguer got a good start whilst Lopez dropped down as low as 11th place from third on the grid. He

Nicki Pedersen becomes permanent participant of SEC 2021  Three-time Individual World Champion and 2016 Individual European Champion, Nicki Pedersen will appear in the Speedway Euro Championship 2021 as a permanent participant. The Dane will replace Grigory Laguta. This will be the seventh cycle of the Individual European Champion competition in which Nicki Pedersen will appear. The Dane competed in the SEC series in the years 2013-2016 and 2019-2020. So far, the three-time Individual World Champion has won four Speedway Euro Championship medals - one gold, two silver and one bronze. He won the most valuable one five years ago during a very unusual situation in Rybnik. Before the final round of the competition, the leader of the interim classification was Antonio Lindbaeck, and Nicki Pedersen was only on the ninth place. Women's European SS 300 Cup: Italian and Spanish women ruled the first round The women European season went live with the first round of the Women's European SS 300 Cup at Mugello Circuit, in Tuscany, Italy. A thrilling weekend, still at closed doors due to the Covid-19 restrictions, with the ladies in fight with an impressive race pace. In Race1 great battle from the first lap up to last between 5 riders: the Italian Roberta Ponziani won the first heat in front of Sara Sanchez and the defending champion, the Spanish Neila Santos, after a technical problem forced Sabrina Della Manna to withdraw. Fourth position for the polewoman Alexandra Pelikanova. Vintage Motocross Cup: Italy hosted the first round The new European Championship reserved for classic bikes made its debut over the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th April at Maggiora track, Italy. Created by the Italian Motorcycling Federation’s Motocross Vintage Coordination and immediately supported by the promoter FXAction Group and the MMX Maggiora Motocross Club, this new championship raced his first round on one of the world’s most popular motocross tracks, with the exceptional number of 350 riders.
