TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2024 Wild Cards announced Picture copyright: Jarek Pabijan The FIM Europe and One Sport are glad to announce the riders who have received the permanent “wild cards” to compete in the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2024. The first of them is Timo Lahti. The Finn with a Swedish passport was close to earning a promotion to the main series through the SEC Challenge, but in the extra race, after a solid battle, he had to acknowledge the superiority of Jevgenijs Kostigovs. It is worth mentioning that in 2020, Lahti stood on the podium of the TAURON SEC rounds held in Gniezno and Toruń (final). Anders Thomsen returns to the line-up of the Individual European Championship. For the past three seasons, the Dane has been a regular participant in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series, in which, in 2022, he claimed victory during the round in Gorzów

EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship: Central Europe Zone and South East zone Thrilling weekend for the EMX65 / EMX85 European Championship with the third round of the Central Europe Zone and the second of the South East zone. After the first event in Denmark and the second in the Netherlands, the city of Reutlingen, Germany, hosted the third and last round of the Central Europe Zone. On Sunday, more than 60 riders were at the start for the final round of this zone, after a heavy-rainy Saturday. EMX65 / EMX85 European EMX85 Absent in the Netherlands, Victor Leppala (KTM) was back in action and set an amazing double win. In Race 1 the Belgian rider ruled from the start to the end, while current leader Hyden Statt (KTM) had to settle with P3. Second position for Danish rider Bertram Thorius (Yamaha). Race 2 saw an intense battle for the first positions.

Dani Muñoz (Gas Up Racing Team) did the double in the Moto2™ European Championship. In the European Talent Cup, Marco Morelli continued to show what a future talent he is with victory, while Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Yamaha GV Racing) cemented his position atop the title standings in the Stock™ European Championship. Moto2 In the Moto2 European Championship Casadei struggling at the start and Muñoz, Navarro and Garcia breaking away, however, this time they were joined by Eric Fernandez (FAU55 TEY Racing) and Surra. All five led the race at some point before Muñoz assumed control ahead of Navarro, and the two left the rest of the field in their wake and, in a repeat of Race 1, that’s how they finished. Supersport 300 Cup Supersport 600 Cup Superstock 1000 Cup: the season got underway in Croatia The first event of the Supersport 300 Cup, Supersport 600 Cup and Superstock 1000 Cup took place together with the Alpe Adria Championship at Automotodrom Grobnik in Rijeka, Croatia. SSP300 and SSP600 After 11 hard-fought laps, the chequered flag of Race 1 declared the win of Daniel Turecek. The Czech rider took the victory of the SSP300 ahead of the young Turkish rider Koruk Mert and Patrycia Sowa, who started from the pole positions after an amazing qualifying session. Turecek won also Race 2, this time ahead of Sowa and the young Hungarian rider Kristian Szilagyi. EMX125 European Championship: solid Mancini gets his second overall win The 4th Round of the EMX125 European Championship in Lugo, Galicia showed all the intensity of European rounds. The races throughout the Saturday and Sunday were really competitive and displayed many twists in a thrilling racing weekend. It was Fantic Factory Racing EMX125’s Simone Mancini who proved to be the best in Lugo with a 2-2 to win his second overall of the season as he showed a lot of composure and consistency! The first race of the EMX125 European Championship began with a chaotic start, as multiple riders collided in the first turn, setting the stage for an action-packed event. Dex Kooiker from De Baets Yamaha MX-Team seized the early lead, closely pursued by Salvador Perez of RFME GASGAS MXJunior Team. Individual Speedway Championship: Janowski won in the SEC Challenge After 4 Qualifying rounds, the Individual Speedway Championship raced the ECC in Daugavpils, Latvia. The level of racing had been high, this was already visible in the training sessions with close racing between the riders, ready to fight and qualify for the final series. In the first heats, the crucial factor was the start from the gate. Dimitri Berge showed a very good reaction in the first heat of the day, confidently securing a win. In the third heat, spectators witnessed an interesting battle between Thorssell and Cierniak throughout the distance, with the Swede ultimately emerging victorious. In his second start, Anders Thomsen fired up. The acclaimed Dane showcased a phenomenal attack on Timo Lahti and celebrated a victory. Also notable was Piotr Pawlicki's performance in his second race. In heat 7, the Pole defeated the previously unbeaten Janowski and Thorssell.
