Northern Talent Cup: the series started in Le Mans! Race1 Polesitter Rossi Moor (FAIRIUM Next Generation Riders Team) claimed the first victory of the season at the famous Le Mans Circuit as the Hungarian edged out Loris Veneman (TeamNL Open Line) by just 0.166s in a fascinating first encounter of the 2022 Northern Talent Cup. Rookie Matteo Masili (FAIRIUM Next Generation Riders Team) won the battle for the final podium spot despite starting from P9 following a three-place grid penalty.
As the lights went out it was Moor who managed to grab the holeshot before drama unfolded behind at Turn 3, with four riders crashing out – one of whom was Valentino Herrlich (Busch und Wagner Racing Team) who was later confirmed to have suffered a tibia fracture. EMX 250 European Championship: Bonacordi wins for the first time in Sardinia At the fourth round of the EMX250 Championship in Riola Sardo, Sardegna, Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing ended their weekend with a huge success as their riders Andrea Bonacorsi and Rick Elzinga finished 1-2 on the podium. For Bonacorsi this was his first overall victory since making the move up to the EMX250 category last year and was the perfect bounce-back after a tough start to the season, while Elzinga clawed back some vital championship points. In the first race of the EMX250 class, we saw Mike Gwerder of WZ Racing Team lead the way with Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Rick Elzinga just behind. Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cas Valk, who was making his wildcard appearance in the 250cc class also started well in third, ahead of Dave Kooiker of Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing and Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cornelius Toendel. Vintage Road Racing European Championship The 2022 season of the Vintage Road Racing European Championship got off to an excellent start at Ring Djursland, near the old harbour town of Ebeltoft, Denmark. Despite the cold and windy but sunny conditions more than 5.000 spectators had found their way to the track. Riders representing 6 different nations fought in seven different classes. European Team Speedway Championship: Poland team flies at home race The new European Championship fired into life last weekend in Poznań, Poland. Welcoming fans from the whole country, the race was live broadcasted on the main TVP Sport Channel. The first ever title was grabbed by Poland, followed by Denmark which had to fight with Great Britain until the last heat for the second position. Martin De Graaff, FIM Europe President “I was happy to join the new European Team Speedway Championship in Poznan. It was many years ago that this event took place. FIM Europe has good Speedway races for the European Championship and this event enriches our calendar. It was good to see team from Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Poland fight for the European title in 20 heats, not only for the results as nations, but also as individual. Congratulation to the Polish team for the win!”.

Cross Country European Cup: 2022 season is started! The first of the two scheduled round of the Cross Country European Cup took off last weekend in Kalvarija, Lithuania. Over 180 riders joined the competition, that took place together with the National Championship. Bikes category Four classes and winners. Lithuanians Dziugas Kazakevicius won in Junior class, Nerimantas Jucius in Open and Mila Veverske in Woman category. The Finnish rider Mika Karma ruled the Senior. Quads category In Quad 2x4 Renatas Jegorovas from Lithuania won building over one minute lead over Gediminas Volkavicius and Miroslaw Wojnowski. In Quad 4x4 victory for the Lithuanian Hegri Sutt. Bajas European Championship: Baja do Oeste After opening round in Badajoz, Spain, the Bajas European Championship moved to Portugal for the second seasonal round. The Baja do Oeste de Portugal took place in the beautiful location of Torres Vedras. The event was held on three days, from May 6th to 8th on a technical route. After the Prologue of 6 km on Friday, on Saturday riders faced two Selective Sections (SS) of 144,75 km and 81,69 km, while on Sunday one Selective Section (SS) of 160,77 km, completing almost 630 km. Race 1 first saw the red flag waved for Tommaso Marcon (MMR), after he collided with Roberto Garcia (SKX Cardoso Racing) going to Turn 1 on the first lap. On the restart, Lukas Tulovic pulled away from Senna Agius (Promoracing), before the red flag was waved again during the 12-lap restart. This time, for a crash involving Piotr Biesiekirski (Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic Racing Team) and Xavi Cardelus (Promoracing). EMX 250 and EMX Open European Championship: Toendel and Pezzuto win in Maggiora The third and fourth rounds of the EMX250 and EMX Open Championship have concluded in Maggiora for the round of Italy. The weekend of the EMX 250 and EMX Open European Championship saw varying conditions, with rain staying away on Saturday, though with heavy rainfall in the night, the EMX riders were presented with much tougher conditions this morning. Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cornelius Toendel did not let this affect his performance, as went on to claim his first overall victory in EMX250 as well as the red plate after Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Rick Elzinga did not finish the second race and lost vital championship points. Meanwhile in the EMX Open class, Stefano Pezzuto claimed his first overall win on home soil as JD Gunnex KTM Racing’s Jose Butron secured the red plate after Rath’s Motorsports Michael Sandner’s struggles in the second heat too.
