FIM Europe Club Lapland Experience The 5th FIM Europe Club Lapland Experience took place from 14th to 18th March in Rovaniemi (FIN). The event, organized by the SML - Finnish Motorcycling Federation in collaboration with the SGAF Association of Finnish Snowmobile Guides and FIM Europe, now represents a fixed annual appointment dedicated to the Officials of the European Federations and their guests. This year the 25 participants, coming from 5 European Countries, were welcomed by the SML President Erkki Heikkinen, past Presidents Juhani Halme and Tapio Nevala and by the Secretary General Ville Salonen. The group, led by Jukka Lainkari, Member of the Touring Commission and SGAF Guide, was accompanied on over 400 km of exciting Lappish nature trails. Also present were the FIM Europe Secretary General, Coordinator of the FIM Europe Club Alessandro Sambuco and the Chairman of the Touring Commission Panagiotis Kalaitzis. EMX 250 European Championship: Bonacorsi dominates the first round The first round of the EMX250 Championship of the season took place in Sardegna and has concluded with Andrea Bonacorsi winning for the second year in a row with some strong racing throughout the weekend. Race1 The first race of the EMX250 class saw a great start with three riders detaching themselves with Ivano Van Erp and Andrea Bonacorsi from Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing Team and Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cas Valk taking the lead with Van Erp taking the better of the others over few turns until Valk made a move on the inside to be 1st on lap 1. It was the turn of Bonacorsi on lap 2 to make a charge on Van Erp who could not resist the attack. Bonacorsi would go on to put pressure on Valk who made a mistake on a turn leaving the path open for Bonacorsi to take the lead on lap 4 and never give it

One Sport extends SEC license until 2030 During the Gala to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Speedway Euro Championship, representatives of One Sport and FIM Europe announced the decision on the extension of the contract to organize the Speedway Euro Championship series. One Sport will be the organizer of the series until at least 2030. Thanks to the consistent efforts of the entire One Sport team, the SEC series has managed to rise to an excellent level. The starting list every year includes the biggest speedway stars, and the competition has come to Poland, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Germany, among others. Tomasz Gollob, Nicki Pedersen, Martin Vaculik, Leon Madsen, Mikkel Michelsen, Patryk Dudek and Emil Sajfutdinow, among others, have raced on a variety of tracks. Record Number of Riders to Race Yamaha YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup in 2023 The popularity of the Yamaha Motor Europe YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup continues to grow apace, with a record number of young riders registered to take part in the unique pan-European race series in 2023. The riders, aged 8-16 years, will all compete for a place on the start gate at the YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale, which will run alongside the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations at Ernée, France over the weekend of 6-8 October 2023. Since its inception in 2015, the Yamaha YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup has attracted the best young riders from around Europe. This year the number of riders registered to contest the series has increased by more than 40% compared to 2022, with 536 youngsters from 28 countries set to compete on Yamaha YZ65, YZ85

European Individual Ice Speedway Championship: Franz Zorn crowned champion for the second time The single round of the European Individual Ice Speedway Championship took place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February in Sanok, in the south-eastern Poland, in front of over 2.000 spectators. Thanks to the great job of the organiser, the races were raced on a perfect track condition. In the first race day the Austrian Franz Zorn took a clear win with maximum points, fighting until the last against the German Luca Bauer, second at the end of a thrilling battle for the victory. Third position for the Swedish Jimmy Olsén. The audience had the chance to see a hard-fought heat 21, with continuous overtaking, changes of positions and some crashes too, fortunately with no consequences. Stock™ European Championship will run in a separate class in 2023 Following to the high number of applications from prospective competitors in the Moto2™ European Championship, the Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship has therefore decided to run the Stock™ European Championship as a separate class in 2023. This new Championship will comprise seven races, one per event, and use a single tyre manufacturer. As a new category, the Stock™ ECh will create a great opportunity for the grid to showcase their skills, taking their own race wins and podiums. Between the 15th of February and the 15th of March, applicants whose place on the grid has already been confirmed will be able to formalise their application and assure their place on future Entry Lists. With the birth of the Stock™ ECh, there will now be three European categories in the Championship: Moto2™ ECh, ETC and Stock™ ECh. SuperEnduro Cup: British Peace is the new champion, while Italian Azzalini impresses The SuperEnduro Cup was back in action for the second and last round of the season with an amazing and thrilling weekend at the Papp Lazlo Sport Arena in Budapest, together with the third GP of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. 12.000 fans followed and lived the adventures of all the top riders of the European Cup and World Championship. After the win in the first round in Germany, British Dan Peace (Sherco) confirmed his role as leader. Although he didn’t take victory in either of the races, the Sherco rider managed to climb to second place overall in the GP which was won by Alessandro Azzalini (GASGAS).
