Supercross European Championship round in Genova

A very large and enthusiastic audience has marked the third round of 2012 UEM European Championship Supercross in Genova. The class SXRookie was won by the French rider Clement BRIATTE (Yamaha) followed by the compatriot Calvin FONVIEILLE (KTM) and the Russian rider Vladislav LEONOV (Suzuki), after the second round the provisional classification is leading by BRIATTE (33pts), 9 points more of the second one the French SALINGUE. The class SX125 was characterized by a big battle between the winner, the French rider Alexis VERHAEGHE (Kawasaki), the second the French rider Dan HOUZET (KTM) and the third the Italian Tommaso DE PIETRI (Suzuki) that arrived under the finish line with a gap of just three seconds. HOUZET leads the provisional classification (52 pts) in front of VERHAEGHE (49 pts). First two rounds of Supercross EC in Marseille

The UEM SX series started with the first two rounds on the 19th and the 20th of October in Marseille (France). The debut of the 2012 edition of the UEM SX Series has taken place in front of a large audience. During the two nights of competition the show has been dominated by the balance of the skill of the riders from all the classes. During Friday the categories were three: SX1, SX2 and the SX125. SX2 is the new category inside the championship which has received a large approval by the competitors. On Saturday night has also started the SX Rookie Championship. The public has filled the stands till the afternoon and the desire to win of the riders has given to the show the charm of the great events. Italy winner of the Motocross of European Nations in Kiev

The Motocross of European Nations event was held today in a track in the outskirts of Kiev (Ukraine). The race, which attracted a huge audience, was broadcasted on National television and was introduced the day before in the city centre of Kiev with the presentation of all the participating riders. 14 national teams participated to the event and the winning team was Italy, composed by Samuele Bernardini (KTM), David Guarneri (KTM) and Manuel Monni (KTM). Victory arrived especially thanks to the extraordinary performance of David Guarneri, who won two heats. Second position went to the Slovenian team composed by the EMX 125 cc European Champion Tim Gajser (KTM), Klemen Gercar (Honda) and Matevz Irt (Suzuki). Third position went to the home national team Ukraine with the riders Andriy Burenko (Suzuki), Mykola Pashchynskiy (KTM) and former European Champion Roman Morozov (Yamaha). KTM Junior European Cup in Magny Cours

The last round of the KTM Junior European Cup was held on Saturday in the French track of Magny Cours. The race was won by Austrian Lukas Wimmer, who becomes also the winner of the 2012 Cup with 120 points. In yesterday’s race Wimmer was followed by Spanish Gaston Garcia and French Guillaume Raymond. Results of the Road Racing European Championship final in Albacete

Great day of motorcycling today in the Spanish track of Albacete, where was held the Road Racing European Championship final. The weather was warm and sunny and the event was held with perfect organisation. Carmelo Morales (Superstock 1000), Jordi Torres (Supersport 600) and Matteo Ferrari (125GP/Moto3) are the new 2012 European Champions, while the Junior titles went to Alberto Santamaria (Superstock 1000) and Angel Poyatos (Supersport 600). Extremely well fought was the Superstock 1000 race with Spanish dominion and with the three-times European Champion (2008, 2009, 2010) Carmelo Morales (SPA-Kawasaki) who, starting from third position behind Adrian Bonastre (SPA-Suzuki) and Xavier Fores (SPA-BMW), managed at the 7th lap to take the lead and to keep it up to the end despite the attacks of the 2011 Champion Ivan Silva (SPA-Kawasaki), who managed to do a spectacular return from 8th position. After a long qualification phase for the riders to get access to the final, the interest is growing for the final act of the Road Racing European Championship that will be held next Saturday and Sunday in the Spanish track of Albacete. 108 are the riders registered to the event in the three classes (125 GP-Moto 3, Supersport 600 cc and Superstock 1000 cc.). This is a further demonstration of the kind of attraction that this event is catalysing, in particular among those riders that aspire to demonstrate to be ready to move and compete to higher level categories with more challenging targets.
