 The FIME 85 cc Youth Speedway Racing European Cup has been held in Skaerbaek (DEN) in a track built especially for youngsters riding on bikes of this category. The meeting has gone very well. The foreign riders could not brake the Danish dominance even they tried to do that in hard fights. Public could see very good heats also in the Semi Finals and in the Final. Victory went to Kasper Andersen. Christian Thaysen on 2nd place and Mads Hansen on 3rd place has completed the race. All of them have represented DMU. On this wonderful multifunctional Arena with Motocross, Hill Climbing, Fun Cars (“soapboxes”) and Ski and Snowboard in winter we saw again Motocross from its best in front of 10000 spectators. The Saturday qualifying practice saw 25 quads fighting for the best positions behind the starting grid. Best time did Edgars Mengelis, Lavia, with 1:53,144 min. Second best was Mike van Grinsven, Netherlands, 1:54,025 and third got Olli Koskela, Finland, 1:54,140. The top 15 were close together, all under 2 min. lap time. In heat 1 holeshot went to Nr. 421, Sten Jupaschevski, local Estonish rider and he was in the lead for more than half distance, than he crashed on a jump near the tent! Earlier this morning at MXGP of Belgium, round fifteen of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Lommel, Youthstream President Mr. Giuseppe Luongo joined FIM Europe President Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM Secretary General Alessandro Sambuco and MXGP Academy trainer and two-time FIM Motocross World Champion John Van Den Berk in a press conference to announce that as of 2015 Youthstream’s latest project the ‘MXGP Academy’ will be officially managed by FIM Europe but will still receive on-going support from Youthstream. The MXGP Academy trains, develops and guides young riders to achieve everything they can within the sport of motocross. Because the project targets our youth, with the youth being linked heavily to their national motorcycling federations, the next logical step in the evolution of the MXGP Academy project was to place it under the management of FIM Europe.  In addition to riders’ training, MXGP Academy will also train trainers so that

The third race of Extreme Enduro European Cup was held yesterday in Kilsbergen just outside Örebro in Sweden. The track was about 10km long and had a lot of difficulties, both natural and built up obstacles. The weather was sunny and about 30 degrees celsius and the race time was 4 hours. There was a prologue on Friday afternoon to decide starting order, and Jonny Walker (GBR) had the best time followed by Joakim Ljunggren (Sweden) and today the riders started after the results from the prologue with 10 sec distance between each rider. Jonny Walker took the advantage to start first and never let anybody come close and was first all the way to the finish, second was Joakim Ljunggren and third Graham Jarvis (GBR). Albie Wilkie took his fourth race win and his third consecutive overall Grand Prix victory in the Honda 150 European Championship in the Czech Republic today with a dominant ride. He took the early lead with a great start on his CRF150R and then never looked back, delivering a succession of fastest laps to steam away from the pack in a class of his own. Combined with his second place finish in yesterday’s race, he takes the overall victory in the Honda 150 European Championship at the MXGP of the Czech Republic. In a reversal of yesterday’s race, this time it was championship rival Jere Haavisto who had the comeback to make after he crashed on the first corner and found himself in 14th. It was a test of the best for the riders who lined up here in Czech Republic for the penultimate round of the European Championship EMX125 with the battlefield being steep and very hard packed. The third round with two races of the FIM Europe Road Racing Supermono Cup was held this weekend at the Red Bull Ring - Spielberg / Austria. Friday was sunny and very hot, Saturday, the weather conditions was cloudy and later rain. The first race was won by Austrian Lukas Wimmer, followed by two Dutch riders Mike Velthujzen and Jerry Van de Bunt. Velthujzen managed to win in the second race in front of Wimmer and Dutch Ricard van Duijn. The provisional rankings see the leadership of Wimmer with 70 points, in front of German Frank Bruntrup with 54. Among the questions faced, it was considered important to start immediately operationalactivities within FIM Europe, dealing with the most relevant issues of the current managementand, most importantly, starting to plan future activities both for the sport and for the non-sportmatters. The second Final of the 2014 FIM Europe Speedway European Championship (SEC) took part in Togliatti (Russia) on a nice evening of the 6th of July 2014. 9.000 spectators have seen a very spectacular, hard and fair speedway event. The atmosphere of the stadium was fantastic. Russian public was very keen. The SEC Final has been broadcasted live by EUROSPORT all over the world and was a perfect advertising for European Speedway sport. The victory went to Nicki Pedersen / Denmark followed by the local hero Emil Sayfutdinov and the Polish Patryk Dudek.
