Road Race Hill Climb European Championship at Poggio Vallefredda (Italy)

The sixth and last round of the European Road Racing Hill Climb Championship was held at Poggio Vallefredda, in Italy, in a sunny day. The event was valid also for the Italian Hill Climb Championship and 172 riders were  present at the start, with the organization of Moto Club Franco Mancini 2000. In the 250 class the winner was Italian Marco Queirolo in front of his compatriots Guido Testoni and Franco Federigi. Guido Testoni (in photo1) is the new European champion of the series in front of Belgian Bernard Depierrieux (in photo2). In the Supersport class, Francesco Curinga - who had already won the title in the last round, conquered the rankings of the day in front of Fabrizio Lanutti and David Lignite, all from Italy. In the Superbike class, the new European Champion Stefano Bonetti won in front of Daniele Lombardi and Francesco Maria Piva, for one more fully

DRAGBIKE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP AND SUPERSTREET BIKE AT HOCKENHEIM (GERMANY)

This year's running of the Nitrolympx from the famous Hockenheim Circuit in Germany was very affected by the weather. Heavy rain on Saturday meant that the planned third and fourth qualifying sessions had to be abandoned and occasional showers on Sunday resulted in a delayed start to eliminations. Despite the weather forecast, the spectators came out in their thousands to see some fantastic racing. In Top Fuel Bike, Ian King (UK) headed the qualifying list of 7 riders at the end of Friday. His strong six-second performances took him to the final. Here he met Rene van de Berg (NED, photo1), who had been setting personal best times all weekend. Unfortunately, King had a mechanical issue before the run and van de Berg took the victory. European 125 cc Youth Track Racing Cup at Divisov (Czech Republic)

On his left, Jan Stovicek, FIM Europe Vice President FIM Europe President Dr Wolfgang Srb personally welcomed spectators at  the European 125 cc Youth Track Racing Cup, at Divisov (Czech Republic). "This event is a perfect chance for the stars of tomorrow to compete against young top riders from other Countries and to prove their skills”, stated Dr Wolfgang Srb. “We will for sure see some great battles that will unfold on track in the various heats". The event of the European 125cc Youth Track racing Cup confirmed these words: riders from six nations battled for the first title for their career in fine weather conditions. Individual Speedway Euro Championship Final 3 at Togliatti (Russia)

In the photo above, Laguta, Lindbaeck, Andersen and Madsen.  Grigorij Laguta won the third Final of Speedway Euro Championship, which was held at Togliatti, in Russia, in front of 9.800 spectators. Sixteen riders and two reserves took part to the event, which saw Russian Grigorij Laguta winning in front of Swedish Antonio Lindbaeck and of Danish Leon Madsen. Hans Andersen ended the final just behind the rostrum.The new leader of Speedway Euro Championship is Antonio Lindbaeck. The situation in general standings is still very close: Anders Thomsen, in 13th position, is just seven points behind the rostrum. EUROPEAN OPEN 65 CC CUP AT ORLYONOK (RUSSIA) – DAY 2

After a stifling hot week, there were much milder temperatures today in Orlyonok, Russia. The track had already taken a hammering from the extreme weather conditions over the days prior; therefore it was pretty dry in areas with jagged holes popping up left, right and center. It was all about line choice thereafter, which was an extra challenge for the talented kids that ventured out here to contest the 2016 FIM Junior Motocross World Championships and the European Open 65cc Cup, where Jago Geerts, Rene Hofer and Kirill Vorobyov were the gold medalists in their respective classes. All three riders also won a Scott mountain bike, thanks to the team at Scott Sports. An uphill start right into a hairpin that heads straight downhill made things interesting for the little guys contesting the European Open 65cc class.
