Mill is in the province of North Brabant, south of the city of Nijmegen and close to the original venue of Den Dungen. The original date of the 3/4 June remains the same. The Chairman of the FIM Europe Motocross and Snowcross Commission, Mr Eddie Herd, expresses his thanks to the KNMV and the Mill club for their cooperation. FIM Europe congratulates with ACEM new President

The European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM) has elected a new leadership team during its 2017 Spring Congress celebrated in Berlin. Mr Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM AG, will become President of ACEM as of 1 July 2017. He will succeed Mr Stephan Schaller, President of BMW Motorrad, who will start serving as Vice-President of ACEM on the same date. The European Association will also have a new Vice-President: Mr Michele Colaninno, who is member of Piaggio & C. SpA’s board of directors as well as CEO and COO of the Immsi Group, which controls the Piaggio Group and also holds investments in a number of important Italian industrial groups. “Congratulations to Mr Stefan Pierer for his election as ACEM President”, stated Dr Wolfgang Srb, FIM Europe President. “ACEM carries out an important job and FIM Europe is looking forward to a close cooperation to achieve our common goals”. European Supersport Cup at Aragon, Spain

The European Supersport Cup kicked off at Aragon, in Spain, during the first Continental round of the World Superbike. The event was held in the context of the first European round of the World Supersport Championship. Eight European Cup riders were on the starting grid. Unfortunately the fastest in qualifying, Alessandro Zaccone, had a technical problem with his MV Agusta and was forced to stop during the first lap. The fastest European Cup rider at the chequered flag was Hannes Soomer, on Honda CBR 600 RR, from Estonia, who finished the World race in 9th position (in the photo from Martin Hejduk). Second place for Rob Hartog, from The Netherlands, on Kawasaki, who was 12th in the overall standing. Third position for Peter Sebestyen, on Kawasaki, from Hungary, 19th below the chequered flag. FIM Europe for the harmonisation of rules in Motocross

Following a change to the World Championship rules regarding the use of starting blocks, FIM Europe has decided that the same should apply to the European rules to keep the rules harmonised. "Riders may not use any starting aid devices. However, starting blocks are allowed in EMX65, EMX85, EMX150, Women’s EMX, the Women’s Motocross of European Nations and the EMX85 class in the MXoEN, plus EMX125, EMX250 and EMX300 when combined with MXGP/MX2 where the metal, serrated starting grid is used”, stated Mr Eddie Herd, chairman of the FIM Europe Motocross and Snowcross Commission. European EMX 65 and 85 and Women’s at Nestved (Denmark) – Day 2

For the final day of the EMX 65 and 85 North East Zone and Women’s European Championships, races started with cloudy weather and wet conditions on the track due to rain during the night. The organizers prepared perfect conditions for all classes. EMX 85 Race1 presented a great battle for first the positions. Home rider Magnus Smith lead from start to finish. Qualifying winner of group A Jett Lawrence from Australia made a mistake at the start and had to fight to get back to his position. And the end he managed to finish second in front of German rider Constantin Piller. In Race2 Jett Lawrence did not disappoint and won in front of Magnus Smith. European Superstock 1000 at Aragon (Spain)

The swooping MotorLand Aragon circuit played host for the opening European Superstock 1000 championship round, and Michael Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing –Junior Team) dominated the 13 lap race under sunny Spanish skies. Starting from pole position, the Italian rider took a strong lead from the first lap. By the end of the first lap he had a lead of over 0.3s over Maximilian Schieb (Nuova M2 Racing), who later crashed at turn four on lap six. This left the door wide open for Florian Marino (PATA Yamaha Official STK1000 Team), who took control of second position and crossed the finish line 3.587s behind the race winner. Roberto Tamburini (PATA Yamaha Official STK1000 Team) made up for a tough day yesterday and completed the podium around MotorLand, and was again a lonely 6.732s back from the race winner. 2016’s regular podium finisher Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) fought for a podium finish

European Snowcross at Alvsbyn, Sweden

Alvsbyn is a white paradise with its beautiful landscape, high mountains, deep forests and rivers. You can marvel at the Northern lights, go fishing, ice climbing and doing snowmobile safari here. It is one of the smallest cities in the Swedish Lapland, but it features some of its most magnificent nature. Here the European Snowcross Championship was held, with a sunny day on Friday and snow on Saturday, and temperatures of 2 degrees below zero in both days and in front of around 1.000 spectators in the weekend. The race was organized in combination with the FIM World Snowcross Championship and the FIM Women’s Snowcross World Cup. The European Snowcross riders were 27. The track had very good technical characteristic: it was very well prepared and with good maintenances all over the weekend. European EMX 65 and 85 and Women’s at Nestved (Denmark)

In Nestved (Denmark) the European Championship NW zone kicked off for EMX65,  EMX85 and EMX Women classes. EMX 85 class In Group A the Australian rider Jeff Lawrence won  the qualifying race at his first presence in this class. Second place for the home rider Magnus Smith ahead of Scott Smulders from Holland. In Group B home rider Rasmus Pedersen won the qualifying race in front of Casper Olsen from Norway and Kay De Wolf from Holland. EMX 65 class Ivano Van Erp from the Netherlands and Mats Fredsoe from Denmark had a big fight in the qualifying race and crossed the chequered flag in this order, in front of Belgian Lucas Coenen. EMX WOMEN class Home Rider Sara Anderson won the qualifying race in front of Shana Van der Vlist from Holland and Sandra Karlsson from Sweden.

FIM Europe Management Council in Fiumicino (Italy)

The FIM Europe Management Council meeting was held today in Fiumicino, near Rome (Italy). Many important topics have been discussed, like the report of the President, the report of the Secretary General, the report of the Chairman of the Sporting Council, the report of the Chairman of the Non-Sporting Council, as well as various reports from the other Vice-Presidents. During the FIM Europe Management Council meeting, special attention was given to the report of the Treasurer, as well as the report of the Auditors. The 2016 Balance-Sheet was unanimously approved and so was the 2017 Budget.
