Big emotions started already in the first heat and it was just a sign of what was to come yet. Kenneth Bjerre and Kim Nilsson were fighting all the way until the last meters of the lap. European Superstock 1000 at Imola (Italy) – Day2

Rinaldi
The excellent 2017 season of Michael Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing - Junior Team) continued at his home race as the Italian took a dominant 2.3s victory at Imola in the Superstock 1000 European Championship, with Roberto Tamburini (PATA Yamaha Official STK 1000 Team) and Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) also on the podium. Controlling a restarted race from pole position on the grid, Rinaldi was unaffected by two aborted race starts - which were cut short by red flags - as he held his nerve to strengthen his position at the head of the standings. After his win at Aragon and second place at Assen Rinaldi outpaced his rivals over the 9 lap sprint, with Tamburini and Razgatlioglu unable to catch him. Turkish rider Razgatlioglu was the only non-Italian in a top six which also featured Federico Sandi (Berclaz Racing Team), Marco Faccani (Althea BMW Racing Team) and Matteo Ferrari (DMR

FIM Europe at ASI Motor Show at Varano (Italy)

IMG_6035
The FIM Europe Vice President Silvio Manicardi visited the ASI Motor Show, the biggest non-racing event of historical bikes in Italy. The cooperation between FIVA (ASI is the Italian branch of FIVA) and FIM Europe is growing having some common objectives such as - probably the most important one - the free circulation of historical bikes (and cars) all around Europe. From left, Palmino Poli, FIVA director for motorcycles and ASI event Responsible, with Silvio Manicardi, FIM Europe Second Deputy President The event, from 12 to 14 May, was extremely rich of participants with over 700 motorcycles on the track - and even more in the paddock - and it was attended by plenty of Champions of the past: from Carlo Ubbiali - 9 times World Champion - for the Fifties to Giacomo Agostini - 15 World titles - for the Seventies, from Freddie Spencer to Loris Capirossi  - both 3
