European U21 Team Speedway at Krosno (Poland) – Postponed

IMG_4681 small
The European U21 Team Speedway Championship was scheduled last weekend at Krosno, in Poland. Heavy rain, as the toughest challenge of speedway races, stopped Polish youngsters on their way to the podium since they’ve won four out of five heats. Maybe a lot would have changed in next 15 heats, but Referee and the Jury stopped the meeting after Heat 5, which wasn’t enough heats to verify results; at least 10 heats should be done to decide the U21 European Team Champion. After many glances to the sky and a bit of hope that the rain will stop, the track was already soaked from the rain and it was not possible to continue. The group of 19 riders from 4 Countries was informed at 19:10 that they had to leave lovely stadium, notwithstanding the organizer did its best to provide them best conditions. Due to the bad forecast on the

The track of Kivioli in Estonia hosted the fourth round of the 2017 ITP European Quadcross Championship. More than 10.000 spectators packed around the track were present for the organization of SA Kivioli Seiklusturismi Keskus. A storm hit the track on Saturday evening, but luckily the weather turned out to be better on Sunday. Even so the organizer did a massive job to maintain the good quality of the track. Local Estonian rider Kevin Saar (Honda, in the last two photos) took full advantage of the Championship's visit to his native country and went ahead to easily win both motos in front of his home crowd. The fight was on for the other two spots on the podium: Polish Roman Gwiazda (Yamaha) managed to win the battle with Christoher Tveraen (Yamaha) in the first race, just edging himself in front at the finish line. It was Martin Filatov (Honda), a

Photo 2 Winners Rostrum
The picturesque town of Hertingen in the South of Germany hosted the 2017 European Individual Grass Track Final, with the event producing some very spectacular and close racing throughout Saturday evening. The 3,000 spectators who attended the event were treated to a number of ‘wheel to wheel’ races with riders not giving a centimetre during the 12 qualify heats. Once all the points had been totalled, the field of the top 16 point scoring riders were allocated to the three (C, B and A) Finals. With two ‘last chance’ places available for the winner and seconded place riders (in the B Final), to qualify through to the all-important A Final, racing was again extremely competitive with Edward Kennet (ACU) and home German rider Christian Hurlshorst (DMSB) finally managing to gain these two important places. This enabled them to join the defending Champion, Brit James Shanes, former multi European Stephan Katt,
