05397_R12_Ambience
In Sunday’s final race of the Superstock 1000 European Championship season former WorldSBK rider Markus Reiterberger (Van Zon Remeha BMW) took an impressive win from pole, crossing the line five seconds clear at the front, with Michael Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing - Junior Team) securing the title by finishing sixth. Illia Mykhalchyk (TripleM Racing) and Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) completed the podium in second and third places respectively. There was drama on the first lap at turn 2 as title contender Florian Marino (Pata Yamaha Official STK1000 Team) crashed with Florian Alt (Team Yamaha MGM), in an incident which also involved Alejandro Medina Mayo (Cardoso School Racing). Medina was given a ride through for his part in that early clash which was to be so costly for Marino’s title aspirations, as the Frenchman ultimately finished in 20th place. That left Rinaldi and Razgatlioglu to fight out the title between them,

Reiterberger
At the Spanish Round on Saturday afternoon a delayed – and ultimately curtailed - final session of the day saw one event rider Markus Reiterberger (Van Zon Remeha BMW) secure a start from pole position in Sunday’s final race of the Superstock 1000 European Championship. The German rider is joined on the front row by STK1000 regulars Mike Jones (Aruba.it Racing - Junior Team) and Roberto Tamburini (PATA Yamaha Official STK 1000 Team). Former WorldSBK man Reiterberger (in photo1) registered a pole lap of 1’42.113 shortly before the session was ended two minutes early due to a red flag. There was also drama earlier in proceedings when midway through QP Jones crashed at turn 5 and did not reappear. He held provisional pole at that point but was eventually outpaced by Reiterberger by just 0.023s. Tamburini took third place on the grid with a lap time 0.068s off that of

International Classic Grand Prix at Almeria (Spain)

The last two rounds of ICGP were held at Almeria, in Spain, with 16 participants in front of around 1000 spectators in sunny, hot weather conditions. In Saturday’s practice only Stefan Tennstaedt from Germany had some problems – in 1st QP his engine was broken, in the 2nd he crashed (luckily without consequence). Even though, he snatched the 6th grid position and 2nd in his class behind Vincent Levieux (FRA). Very hard fight for Renaud Binoche (SPA), who at the end signed the second qualifying time behind Mike Edwards (GBR). In Race1 in 350cc class Mike Edwards won with a big margin. He said: “I was always riding at 100%”, at at the beginning of the race he lost 2 positions and had to ride really fast to win. Second was Renaud Binoche (his best lap was 2 sec faster than in QP but it was not enough to beat

Krzysztof Kasprzak won the final round of Speedway European Championship, which took place in Lublin. Andrzejs Lebedevs became the new Individual European Champion. Silver medal for Artem Laguta, ahead of Vaclav Milik (photo2). Andreas Jonsson and Krzysztof Kasprzak earned the right to stay in the cycle. The first fight of the day took place between Krzysztof Kasprzak and Mateusz Szczrepaniak – the two riders fighting for the right to stay in the cycle. The latter was quite lucky, because Smolinski, going for the 3rd place at the moment, had a problem; thanks to that, Szczepan earned one point. The second heat welcomed Lebedevs, Milik and Laguta, all of them fighting for the highest positions in the general standing. The fact that they started to ride very close to each other proves that the riders took the heat seriously – Artem Laguta suffered a fall because of that. During the repeated
