FIM Europe and FFM representatives met yesterday in Nantes (France). This organisational meeting was held to check the last details in sight of the next elective FIM Europe Congress to be held in the Westotel Nantes Atlantique in Nantes on 28th – 30th June. “Westotel Nantes Atlantique offers unique congress facilities surrounded by holiday style structures”, stated Michal Sikora, FIM Europe Treasurer. “I am sure that the 24th FIM Europe Congress will be held in a friendly atmosphere and will combine work with a bit of rest”. “The FFM is proud to welcome the 2018 FIM Europe Congress in Nantes and to tell you that all our staff is working hard to prepare this event”, said Sébastien Poirier, FFM Directeur Général. “We are looking forward to seeing you all in Nantes next June”. FIM Europe at the FIM MotoE™ World Cup presentation

The new MotoE™ World Cup will be a leap into the future through the competition of the world’s first Fast Charge electric motorcycles manufactured by Italian company Energica, bringing together performance and zero emissions. In 2019, five races will be held at five of the European circuits on the MotoGP™ calendar. This leaves huge scope for MotoE™ in the future; beginning in Europe with a view to growing worldwide. This morning the new project was unveiled in an international press conference in Rome. Silvio Manicardi, FIM Europe Second Deputy President, with three times World Champion Loris Capirossi, who is taking part to the development of Energica motorcycle for MotoE™. European Yamaha R6 Cup powered by Bridgestone

In 2018, the Yamaha R6 Cup powered by Bridgestone will be a new part of the Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship which consists of the consolidation of in total eight motorcycle Federations: Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia. The series is made up of 6 race weekends with 2 heats each, which sums up to a total of 12 championship races at Slovakia-Ring (Slovakia), Autodrom Poznan (Poland), Pannonia-Ring (Hungary), Red Bull Ring (Austria), Autodrom Grobnik (Croatia) and at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (Germany). Prior to the opening round at the Slovakia-Ring (4-6 May 2018) a testing session will be held at the same circuit the week before (1-2 May 2018) as official preparation for the season. FIM Europe at the 2017 Award Ceremony of the Croatian Motorcycle Federation (HMS) in Jastrebarsko

The “Noć Prvaka”, the Night of the 2017 Champions was celebrated in style at the famous Princess Centre in Jastrebarsko, some 30 km from the Croatian capital Zagreb. The Princess Centre is a Congress and Banquet venue where various events are staged, including many weddings. So why not also a celebration for Motorcycle Champions! FIM Europe at the 13th ACEM Conference in Brussels

FIM Europe was present at the 13th ACEM annual conference in Brussels. The event, titled “Sustainable motorcycling in Europe” was organised by the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers and attracted more than 250 attendees from all over Europe, representing businesses, representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament, Member States, NGOs and other organisations. The conference addressed the role of the motorcycle industry in the sustainability of transport in Europe and the direction that the Commission is clearly indicating. Some of the topics that were discussed included: motorcycling in cities, traffic congestion and local environmental policies, regulation 168/2013 on type-approval of L-category vehicles and environmental standards, engine efficiency and electrification of transport, pollutant emissions (HC, NOx, PM), GEAR 2030 and the future of the automotive sector in Europe, and latest market trends. FIM Europe at the 2017 Award Ceremony of the Auto-Moto Association of Serbia (AMSS) in Belgrade

The “Prize Giving Ceremony for the Serbian Champions in Moto, Auto and Karting Sport” was staged in the fashionable “Metropol Palace Hotel” in Belgrade. AMSS is affiliated both to FIM as well as FIA; therefore the Champions in the various categories were honored. On top, the participants at the Award Ceremony. Below, Mirko Butulija, President AMSS with FIM Europe President Dr Wolfgang Srb and the venue of the event AMSS President Mirko Butulija welcomed in his opening speech the riders and drivers, their families, clubs, organizers, officials, media as well as many representative from neighbouring Federations; all in all around 400 guests. Following the Non-Sporting Council and Non-Sporting Commission Meetings held yesterday, the FIM Europe Executive Board was held today at Fiumicino (Italy). Among the most urgent decisions which were taken, some relating to the Sport that will allow to send, in the coming days, the usual Sporting Circular for the upcoming 2018 Sporting Season. FIM Europe Non-Sporting Council in Rome Fiumicino (Italy)

The FIM Europe Non-Sporting Council was held today in Rome/Fiumicino (Italy) and was preceded by three Non-Sporting Commission Meetings: “Public Affairs and Road Safety”, “Marketing, Promoting and Industry” and “Touring”. The “Environment” Commission will meet at the end of March in Warsaw but its Chairman was attending the Non Sporting Council. Mr Silvio Manicardi, FIM Europe Vice-President, said: “As you can see from the report of each Chairman, the Commissions did very good work, both in revising the activities of 2017 and preparing for 2018. The results were shared with Mr Damiano Zamana, Programmes Director of FIM. Apart from the internal activity, there are a couple of external items that are worth our attention. During #LetsMakeSpeedway Gala in CKK Jordanki in Toruń, One Sport organization presented the Speedway Euro Championship 2018 calendar. The first round of SEC 2018 will take place in Gniezno. In the first Polish capital, 15 permanent motorcycle participants will start the fight for the Speedway Euro Championship podium. The season will end in another legendary city for Polish Speedway – Chorzów, on September 15th. Here, the competition on Śląski Stadium will be held for the first time in SEC history on a temporary track. The second SEC round will take place in Gustrow, on the shortest and the most technical track in the European Championship. The following stop for the riders starting in SEC will be in Daugavpils – hometown of current champion, Andrzejs Lebedevs. The SEC Challenge, where the biggest part of riders starting in the series will meet, will take place on May 5th in Italy. foto: Jarek
