European Superstock 1000 at Brno (Czech Republic) – Day1

Marcus Reiterberger (alpha Racing- Van Zon-BMW) was yet again unstoppable in the European Superstock 1000 Championship, keeping his good momentum going from Friday into the Saturday qualifying round. The German was half a second faster than the riders following him, and could be on course for an amazing fourth race win of the season. He will face competition from Maximilian Scheib (Aprilia Racing Team) however. The Chilean has proven to be a tough competitor to the leading rider’s authority, and starting from second on Sunday’s grid will fancy his chances at recording a first win this year. Roberto Tamburini (Berclaz Racing Team) finished qualifying in third place, meaning that Sunday’s front line will be completed by the same riders that rose to the rostrum at Donington Park in the previous round. In sunny and very hot weather conditions the third round of the 2018 Supermoto European Championship season started in Poznan in the west of Poland. With its fast, long corners and short off-road section the track always makes racing spectacular. Today the free practices and time practice were held and the places on the grid divided. With Thomas Chareyre out, it was Degasoline rider Pavel Kejmar who took the pole position in Poznan. For Kejmar it is his first pole of 2018. With a lot of riders close to each other, for sure the races of tomorrow will be full of action. Free practice 1 On Saturday morning 29 riders started the first free practice in Poznan. Supermoto Junior and S3 European Championships at Pleven (Bulgaria)

The track of Pleven, in Bulgaria, hosted the Supermoto Junior and S3 European Championships SM Junior, Race 1: The first race of the SM Junior class started with a holeshot of Viktor Neychev (BUL, BMF), who faced a lot of pressure from Ares Stefan Bengic (TMF, KTM) during the whole race. At the checkered flag however, the Bulgarian managed to assure his win with a ten seconds gap ahead of his rivals. Bengic finished second. The fight for the third position was a great battle among 5 riders which: Kristian Ivanov (BMF, KTM), Radostin Mihaylov (BMF, KTM), Jan Ulman (ACCR, Kawasaki), Hristian Georgiev (BMF, KTM) and Ivan Mosin (MFR, TM). The five riders constantly changed positions during the 8 laps race, but at the very last corner Ivanov managed to overtake Mihaylov from the outside, thus securing the third place for the race. EMX 65cc, EMX 85cc NW Zone and EMX Women at Dreetz (Germany) – Day 2

The third round of the EMX 65/65 European Championship of North West Zone and the second round of EMX Women were held in Germany on the sandy track of Dreetz. The weather on Sunday was cloudy with a temperature of 24 degrees. The track was very well prepared and all riders were looking forward to exciting races. EMX85 - In Race1, Dutch Kay Karssemakers was able to achieve the first place. In second place Dutch Kay de Wolf, ahead of Liam Everts from Belgium. In Race2 first place for Dutch Kay Karssemakers ahead of Kay De Wolf from The Netherlands and of Liam Everts from Belgium. The overall saw Kay Karssemakers in front of Liam Everts and Dave Kooiker (photo1). EMX65 – Race1 was won by a rider from Belgium, Bradley Mesters. European Commission publishes proposal for amendment of the Motor Insurance Directive

European Commission publishes proposal for amendment of the Motor Insurance Directive (MDI) As global advocate for motorcycling and an active proponent of road safety, the FIM takes note of the proposal, published on 24 May, and expresses its support for the aim of strengthening EU rules on motor insurance with the ambition of providing better protection for accident victims and improving the rights of policy holders. As part of the process for revision of the MDI the Commission launched a public consultation in 2017. After consultation of the European FMNs, the FIM expressed its support for a scenario, put forward by the Commission at the time as one of several options, to require insurance at European level for vehicles being used in traffic only and to leave the way accidents arising in other situations are addressed to Member States in keeping with the subsidiarity principle. EMX 250 and EMX 300 at Matterley Basin (Great Britain)

Under blue skies and sunshine FIM Europe’s EMX250 and EMX300 presented by FMF Racing classes have completed their British round at Matterley Basin. Aside from the epic weather and perfect track conditions the racing was phenomenal as well. The British fans where especially treated when Car Glass Honda’s Steven Clarke took the EMX250 overall and Verde Substance KTM’s Brad Anderson won EMX300 presented by FMF Racing and took the championship points lead at the same time! EMX 250 - The ultra competitive EMX250 class continued this weekend in Matterley Basin for the 5th round of the season. Revo Husqvarna UK had high hopes for a home race win with both Martin Barr, the series points leader, and Mel Pocock, second in the standings, both racing in front of the home crowd. European Cross Country Cup at Skýcov (Slovakia)

In the last weekend, the second round of the European Cross Country Cup was held at Skýcov, in Slovakia. The track is very rugged and includes all the technical features that the country cross track should contain. The start was placed on the motocross section where the riders take a few jumps, and uphill or downhill runs are not missing. It was quite muddy, due to Friday’s rain, so it was very important to choose the right track. Štefan Svitko from Slovakia, who dominated the two days, was the absolute winner of the race in Skýcov. He won also the Senior European Cup class, In the Junior class the winner was Patrik Halgaš, from Slovakia, too. In the Women class the winner was Gabika Čipková and in the European Cup Quad class the fastest was Juraj Gejdoš, all from Slovakia. Tout Terrain European Cup in Greece

The second round of the Tout Terrain European Cup was held in Greece. In the context of the Hellas Rally, which sees 285 entries, 46 riders took part to the European Cup. The event started on Monday 21st finished on Sunday 27th. After the first 5 days, French Loic Minaudier was the leader of the overall, ahead of Italian Jacopo Cerutti and Spanish Dani Oliveiras. Day 6 Italian Andrea Mancini snatched the first position at the end of the day. Second position in the absolute standing of French Sebastien Souday, winner of Quad category, who has been bettering every day and who was particularly performing on Day 6’s fast routes. The second position in the Bikes was for Italian Jacopo Cerutti, who has so far won 2 wins and 3 second places and is and 5th in the overall category.
