EMX 125 and 250 at Frauenfeld (Switzerland)

The FIM Motocross World Championship was joined by the European Championship races of EMX125 presented by FMF Racing and EMX250 where Team VRT’s Tom Guyon and Honda RedMoto Assomotor’s Mathys Boisrame took the respective overall wins. Played out over 2 days the EMX racing started with Time Practice and Last Chance Races to narrow the fields down to 40 riders each. Following the Qualifying was the first points paying races on Saturday starting with first with EMX125 presented by FMF Racing Race 1 immediately by EMX250 Race 1. In EMX250 the race was first led by the round 1 winner in RedSand, Spain, BUD Racing Monster Energy’s Pierre Goupillon. Goupillon quickly lost the lead to Team DIGA-Procross’ Dylan Walsh and the lost another spot to Honda RedMoto Assomotor’s Mathys Boisrame. Walsh dealt with pressure from the red plate holder Boisrame on his Honda but the #172 fell on lap 2.

European Drag Racing at Hockenheim (Germany)

The European acceleration elites got together for the 33rd NitrOlympX at the Hockenheimring, in Germany, from 17 to 19 August. The “Ring” was transformed into a straightaway and became a runway for the fastest motorsport in the world: drag racing. The 2nd round of the European Dragracing Championship and the 3rd round of the European Super Street Bike Championship and Junior Drag Bike Cup were held. Top Fuel Bike - The winner was Greek Filippos Papafilippou (photo 1). Second position for Eric Richard (FRA) Super Twin Bike - The winner was Marcus Christiansen (DEN, photo 2) and second was Takeshi Shigematsu (JPN) Marcus run a new ET record 6.408. Tauron Individual Speedway Euro Championship at Daugavpils (Latvia)

Leon Madsen won the third round of Tauron Speedway Euro Championship 2018, which was held at Daugavpils (Latvia) in front of around 6.000 spectators, in a sunny day. Thanks to a good result, Dane became the new leader of Individual Speedway European Championship. It was the very first heat, when fans, who gathered at the venue in Daugavpils, had reasons to get excited from. Andzejs Lebedevs - the local favourite, started the meeting with a win. Heat after heat, current Euro Champion got it slightly worse and did not get through to the final heat. Rivalry in Latvia started great for Madsen, who left Robert Lambert behind his back in his first start of the day. Dane presented some solid racing, which led him to gathering 16 points. BELARUS Juniors 1-3 FRANCE Juniors France juniors played good game and were more composed team than their opponents. They scored three goals, conceded only one and won third place. Belarus played well, but were let down but their defense. The Speedway U19 Individual European Championship was held at Varkaus, in Finland - 17 riders from 10 nations were on the starting list, and they all did their best to become the Champion. On a sunny and windy day on a hard racetrack Mads Hansen from Denmark was the fastest, ahead of Polish Szymon Szlauderback and of Latvian Olegs Mihailovs. These young riders from 10 different Countries showed that Speedway is at a high level in Europe. European Supermoto at Sauliai (Lithuania)

The third round of class SM Junior of the European Supermoto 2018 Championship was held this weekend in Lithania on "Baciunas" Karting track in Sauliai. Even if before the event the sun was hot, with more than 30°C, practices and races of SM Junior class saw an unexpected turn of the weather, with only 19 degrees, clouds and rain without stop. It was Estonian rider Aksel Partelpoes on his Husqvarna to overcome these conditions imposing himself as the man to beat in all the outings on the track – he scored the best lap in free and timed practices, thus earning the pole-position for the races. He was closely followed by Russian Ivan Mosin (TM) and Jan Ulman from Czech Republic on his Kawasaki. Italian “triplette” in the other titles still to be assigned at Bilstain, Belgium, for the last round of the 2018 FIM Europe Trial Championship. Matteo Grattarola (Sembenini Montesa photo 1) is Champion in the Europe Class, the Junior Cup goes to Sergio Piardi (Beta photo 2) and the Over 40 Cup is propriety of Piero Sembenini (Montesa photo 3). It is the first time that 3 riders belonging to the same country triumph in all the three classes. What better place than the old area of Bilstain to celebrate this unusual event! Grattarola clinched his third Continental title and all on different bikes. At the end of the second day, two French riders were back on top of the podium in the third round of the European Enduro Championship in Skövde, Sweden: Hugo Blanjoue and his KTM colleague Thomas Dubost are not only riding in the same KTM-team, but both are also personally good friends and fight against each other only in the special tests. BELARUS Juniors 2-4 GERMANY Juniors Tough game for both teams. Germany wasted 11 meters penalty, a bit later Belarus did the same - Germany goalkeeper saved the ball. Germans had they second chance with one more 11 meters penalty and this time they did it well. Belarus answered in the second part of the game - scored a long range shot.
