Italian riders of the past honoured in Imola MXGP

Yesterday afternoon during the MXGP of Italy at Imola’s Autodromo Enzo & Dino Ferrari circuit former Italian motocross champions were honored and given certificates from FIM Europe President Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FMI President Giovanni Copioli and President of Formula Imola Uberto Selvatico Estense. Dr. Wolfgang Srb spent time congratulating the riders with the certificates that acknowledged the great significance of their impressive careers combined with the occasion of this GP and the 70-year anniversary of motocross at Imola. Various Italian riders were present and awarded and among the others we remember Emilio Ostorero, 16-time Italian Champion in both 250cc and 500cc during 1950, 1960, and 1970, Canzio Tosi 5-time Motocross Italian champion in 250cc and 500cc and Italo Forni (Italy), 500cc Motocross Italian Champion in 1974 and part of the Fiamme Oro group.

European Moto2 and Talent Cup at Jerez (Spain) – Day1

Edgar Pons (AGR Team) in Moto2™ (photo1) and David Salvador (Cuna de Campeones) in the European Talent Cup (photo2) took the poles in their respective categories in the latest round of the FIM CEV Repsol at the Circuito de Jerez. Gabriel Durán (Centro Moto) took pole and won the first race of the European Kawasaki Z Cup. Héctor Garzó (Team Wimu CNS) posted the best time in the Moto2™ European Championship, a 1:42.513 achieved in QP1, beating Edgar Pons by just 13 thousandths. However, the Wimu CNS Team rider suffered a 12-position penalty for a technical irregularity related to his bike, leaving first place to the AGR Team rider. In the end, Lukas Tulovic (Team Wimu CNS), third in the qualifying session, will start second followed by Jesko Raffin (Swiss Innovative Investors Junior), who suffered a hard fall on Friday. European Superstock 1000 Championship no longer to continue into 2019

FIM Europe and Dorna WSBK Organization have announced that as of 2019 the European Superstock 1000 Championship will no longer be part of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. After 19 seasons of successful racing in around Europe, with 17 different champions and six different manufacturers taking titles in the class, the decision to not continue the series, has been made following the evolution of technical regulations in WorldSBK over recent years. Looking ahead to the future, the removal of the STK1000 category from the WorldSBK paddock will bring more value to national STK championships around Europe. FIM Europe Club Experience at Ioannina (Greece)

The fourth experience of the FIM Europe Club took place at Ioannina (Greece) on the weekend of 21-23 September. This edition, which follows those hosted by Italy, Sweden and France, was organized by AMOTOE and managed by an experienced Staff qualified in the FIM Europe Tour Assistant Courses. Family picture of the participants The Staff, led by Panagiotis Kalaitzis, guided the more than twenty participants in an enthralling journey into the beauties of Greece, from the coast to the inside, from the crystalline waters to the monasteries set in the rocks. Sidecarcross of European Nations and Quadcross of European Nations Day 2 at Slagelse (Denmark)

Quads On a cool but sunny day with a large number of spectators, Team USA secured the overall win to retain the red plates with consistent performances of the 3 riders - Thomas Brown, Jeffrey Rastrelli and Chad Wienen - on 8 points with two first places for Wienen, two second places for Rastrelli and a second place for Brown in the 3 races. But they had to fight hard on the demanding track of Slagelse which proved difficult to overtake on. Team Ireland finished second on 39 points with the 3 riders, Justin Reid, Mark McLernon and Leon Rogers with some consistent high placings. Team Netherlands was third on 44 points with the team of Richardo Phoelich, Joe Maessen and Mike Van Grinsven but Van Grinsven had bad luck when leading the final race and suffering a machine failure. Team Norway was 4th just one point behind the Netherlands.

Sidecarcross and Quadcross of European Nations Day 1 at Slagelse (Denmark)

Quads - 20 Quad teams were present with teams from 17 European countries plus a team from Argentina, Canada and the USA producing some exiting and interesting racing. With the weather varying between clouds, sunshine and some showers of rain, team USA produced the perfect result with a win in the first race by Thomas Brown and again a win in the 3rd race by Chad Wienen and still had the luxury of a second position in race 2 by Jeffrey Rastrelli which the team did not need because it is the best two results that count for the overall team placings. The Netherlands finished second overall on 5 points with Joe Maessen finishing third in race 2 and Mike Van Grinsven second in race 3. Latvia finished third in the overall standings on 6 points with a win for Edgars Mengelis in race 2 and a 5th place for

In conjunction with FIM, the following balancing regulations have been updated and will be applied from and including Round 6 at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (D) for European Supersport 300 Cup and Class Alpe Adria Supersport 300: Yamaha YZF-R3A (2018 Year Model, Euro 4) can use the inlet camshaft and cam sprocket of the Yamaha YZF-R3 (pre 2018 Year Models, Euro 3). Part numbers: • Intake camshaft: 2MS-E2170-01 • Cam sprocket: 1WD-E2176-00 No other parts can be exchanged between the different homologations of the Yamaha YZF-R3 and YZF-R3A.
