Supermono Cup: time for TT Assen TT Assen hosted the Supermono Cup too. Race 1. The weather was sunny and the track was perfect. All weekend Jerry Van de Bunt from the Netherlands was the fastest rider. As poleman he started the race faster and determined to get the victory, but a few laps before the end he had technical problems and finished fourth. Josef Frauenschuh from Austrian the took advantage of the situation with Jerry and took first place in the race. Daniel Scagnetti from Italy was just holding his third position, but also he got some technical problem and did not finish the race. Suddenly the Turkish rider Galip Satici took second place. And an American rider Matt Orouke took the third place. At the end: Frauenschuh won in front of Satici and Orouke. Race 2. Jerry Van de Bunt was in pole position with Josef Frauenschuh second

SSP 300 and Superstock 1000 European Cup: the second round at TT Assen

SSP 300 and Superstock 1000 European Cup: the second round at TT Assen Second round of the SSP 300 and Superstock 1000 European Cup at TT Assen, in the Netherlands. Good weather and temperatures welcomed riders and teams. On Saturday took place the qualifying and race 1, while race 2 on Sunday. SSP 300 class race 1 was open up to the last lap but the winner was Troy Beinlich in front of Manuel Rocca and Jiri Nespensky. In Superstock 1000 first position for Christofer Bergman, second for Arnaud Friedrich and third for Kamil Krzemien. SSP 300 race 2 was stopped by red flag after a crash in lap 9 and so the final results are based on lap 8: the winner is Try Beinlich, Manuel Rocca was second and Mate Szamado was third. In the Superstock 1000 race 2 Christofer Bergman from Sweden won in front of Arnaud Friedrich

The veteran, who turns 60 later this month, won this crown as far back as 1999, but the fact he will arrive hot-foot from the first round of this year’s FIM World Long Track Championship at Herxheim is tribute to not just his longevity, but his consistency too. The FIM President, Mr Jorge Viegas, has already sent to every member of the FIM family a letter containing several issues regarding the celebration of this day and we subscribe every word of this document. This year the theme is “AIR POLLUTION”, inviting everybody in the planet to make any effort to “green the blue” i.e. to improve the quality of the air that we breath. Open Endurance Championship: the race in Magny Cours This weekend the Open Endurance Championship was at Magny Cours, France. Team VRD Igol Pierret Experiences-Viltais won both race 1 and race 2. Double second and double third position respectively for team Aprilia Grebenstien and team Space Moto 37. These three teams ruled both the races.

EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship North West zone and EMX Women's European Championship: fourth round in Germany The fourth round of the EMX 65 / EMX 85 European Championship North West zone and EMX Women's European Championship took place in Reutlingen, Germany.
With good weather conditions, the training started on time. In 65cc class qualifying Vitezslav Marek (Czech Republic) dominated on the little lady Lotte van Drunen from the Netherlands and the young English Ashton Boughen. In 85cc class best time for Cas Valk. In the women's class, after a great fight, Sara Anderson prevailed on the German Stephanie Laier. Third position for the Dutch Lynn Valk. Race 1 85cc class saw Julius Mikula (Czech Republic) first, the English Charlie Heyman second and Mads Fredsoe (Denmark) third. Cross Country Cup: the first round in Finland Last weekend riders from six countries (Sweden, Finland, Chech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia) came to Lahti, Finland, for the first round of the Cross Country Cup The track was located in Vesivehmaa Airport and was made of two different routes: one for Quad and one for motorbikes participants. The race day started with the Quad competition. Valtteri Vainionpaa from Finland finished first in front of the Estonians Viinapuu Raido and Vanker Tamur. Unfortunately, motorbikes race was with just one lap because of the race had to be interrupted as rider Antti Pendikainen lost the control of his bike and died at the accident site. Two Scandinavian races enrich the Dragbike European Championship Last weekend FIM Europe Acting President has visited the Dragbike European Championship in Santa Pod (UK). The first purpose was to enjoy the exiting races in a combined event for cars and motorbikes. The second part was the important meeting at the end of the race day. The organizers of Hockenheim (Germany), Tierp (Sweden) and Kauhave (Finland) discussed the future of the European Championship Dragbike with Keith Bartlett, CEO of Trakbak, and the representatives of FIM Europe, Martin de Graaff and commission member Job Heezen. Positive news for the current season, as the calendar has been expended with two events: the Scandinavian races in Tierp on 8th-9th June and in Kauhava on 6th-7th July. Tragic accident in Cross Country European Cup in Vesivehmaa, Finland On Sunday the Cross Country European Cup opening round in Finland had to be interrupted as a result of a serious accident in the first half of the three-hour race due to a serious accident. Rider Antti Pendikainen lost the control of his bike and died at the accident site. The organizer set up an investigation commission that is investigating about, but motorbike’s technical problems are excluded. The FIM Europe takes part in the loss and the full sympathy goes out to his family. Mr Martin de Graaff, Acting President “It’s unfair to have lost Pendikainen in fatal accident.
